Opening Bangkok Bank Account on Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Anyone opened a Bangkok Bank Account on a Tourist Visa or will I need to be on a different type of Visa?????

I opened one on a 30 day visa exempt entry, that was at the Head Office on Silom Road in Bangkok.

It can be done but you may have to be persistent.

Earlier in the year, before I left for home, I tried to open an account. The office on soi 11 turned me down flat. So I went across Sukhumvit to the Bang Kapi branch. (182 Sukhumvit Rd. Khlong Toei) They allowed me to open only a savings account. What I really wanted was an Internet banking account but this they would not allow without a more permanent type visa like O-A.

Moral is: if you get turned in one just walk down to the next branch.

Same advice as the already, dozens of open topics. Just keep trying different branches, the Bang Kapi Branch, near Nana BTS Station, deals with foreigners, if they won't, just go to the main branch.

If no luck with Bangkok Bank, many use Kasikorn Bank.

BBL is the friendliest bank in Thailand, especially towards tourists.

I have had no luck with other banks. But I have a couple of accounts with BBL, different provinces, different branches.
