Shamelessly Lobbying for Thai Visa "Poster of the Year"

Featured Replies

 • Popular Post

This morning I woke up to a surprise in Thai Visa. Well, that's not unusual, actually but this one was a compliment (I think). I've been one of many nominated for "Thai Visa Poster of the Year" http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/785491-thaivisa-poster-of-the-year-2014-vote-now/

This little contest is hatched by the regulars in the "Farang Pub" forum-- not a place I often visit. But, a little research revealed I was nominated by Jingthing who does pop into our very own Chiang Mai forum. Thank you Jingthing (I think)

I haven't paid attention to previous "Poster of the Year" competitions. Hope there's no "Swim Suit Competition" The other ladies who swim with me at the condo pool can vouch you don't want to see that!

Anyway, I'm falling behind in the votes now and it's getting embarrassing. I can't even get Hubby to log onto Thai Visa to vote for me. He says he's forgotten his ThaiVisa password.

Since you asked first I voted for you. Otherwise it would have been a toss up with you and UG. Winnie too, but I didn't see his name among the contenders. Best of luck!

Yes, I would have voted for UG, too, if I haven't been in the running. Good to have a local win the contest, right?

I don't hang out on that "Farang Pub" at all. No need, when there's too many good real pubs, wine bars, coffee shops and food courts here that serve the same purpose. But, it's a forum that does fill that need for someone who lives in a less social place than Chiang Mai.

The fix is in for Jingthing - at least I hope so. He has come in second place every time for years and deserves to win first place at least once. Neverdie is managing his campaign this year, so he stands a very good chance of victory. clap2.gif

It took Susan Lucci 18 failed attempts to win a Daytime Emmy for her portrait of the villainess Erica Kane on the American TV soap opera 'All My Children'. Hang in there Jingthing.

You had my vote, Nancy, even before I read this post. It was really tough deciding between you and Ulysses, though; somehow you won me over. Both of you have been consistently truthful, sincere, informative, and civil in your contributions. We can never have enough of those qualities.

Of course, I would prefer that you vote for me, but you'd be insane to bet on that ...

Let's all recognize a REAL CONTRIBUTOR this year, OK?

Not a flaming feta cheese flash in the pan or the same old same old (undeniably super cute) bogan babies song and dance year after year after year.

Also remember up until the last minute you can DELETE YOUR VOTE and change it and actually change the final results if enough people exercise that perfectly within the rules option.

VOTE NANCYL !!!!

(or me ...)coffee1.gif

Come on Chiang Mai, in NancyL you've got a contender!

She's rallying now and nipping at the arse of the frothy Athenian.

Given that this is a Thai election I will shamelessly offer my vote to the highest bidder. Just PM me with yours offers.

A man can do anything that a woman can do. I know, I've seen it with my own eyes. So why vote for a woman? Vote for a man - vote for JT. He's sure to win if it's a well-hung vote.

My vote is for Nancy, only if Allan Hall personally comes to present her with the award.

After all this time as a member I have only just found out there was a "Farang Pub" forum on TV.

Perhaps I do have a life after all. (-:

A few months ago, I would have been very annoyed with this post. Now, I just find it hysterically funny. By his leaving, I've had one heck of a good time this year. Thanks everyone -- for pulling together to remake the CM Expats Club!

As Dana Carvey, (portraying George H. W. Bush on Saturday Night Live) once said, "Seen it. Seen it many times."

Ditto--about not knowing about the 'Pub'--not so sure about the 'life' bit, though.

If I could understand how to--I would vote for NancyL--but don't count on my being able to work it out in time.

I still don't get it-that link just took me to a thread with posts about the competition?

Thee poll is at the top of the page. Just click beside her name and then the other button that says - something like "VOTE". I can't see it as I have already voted.

You can also switch your vote, so if Jingthing is really getting trounced, I might switch my vote at the last moment and send Nancy over the top. She is winning at the moment. I bet Jingthing wishes that he had not nominated her. tongue.png

UG got my vote. He has his opinions which he clearly identifies as opinions, is seldom judgmental and is very rarely (if ever?) wrong about facts. Can't go wrong with a guy that knows where to get good food at reasonable prices.

It is also pleasant not to have to go thru a chapter of his life history to read one of his posts.

Costas has tied her. I already voted for Nancy.

Allan, Allan ... who the <deleted> is Allen?

There must be a story there?
