Aha, sorry. I'm lol looking for a tablet.... Most likely herbal. ... that when taken before a long haul flight will lessen the impact of jet lag. I know of an American product called No Jetlag.. but not sure I'd you can get it here.

I plan to check Boots, pharmacies and any health food stores I can find. ... I was just hoping to shorten the leg work by asking on Thai Visa first :-)

Sounds like an amazing product. Let us know if it works.

X-RAYS, COFFEE, MINT & HOMEOPATHIC PRODUCTS

Some poorly manufactured homeopathic products are harmed by exposure to x-rays, coffee or aromatic products like mint. No-Jet-Lag does not fit into this category. It has been robustly manufactured to ensure that it is effective when exposed to either x-rays or coffee or mint. This was proven during the scientific trial which showed No-Jet-Lag effective in combating jet lag. No-Jet-Lag was exposed to x-rays during the trip and the trialists drank coffee while flying during the trial.

Homeopathic remedies... I remember The Amazing Randi (reknowned magician and hard-core sceptic, took an entire bottle of homeopathic sleeping pills on stage. Obviously, a huge overdose. But, as he explained, homeopathic remedies are diluted to the point of not one molecule of the original substance remains in the water. Homeopaths claim that water has "memory" but there has been no scientific evidence of this. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. And there is none.

Melatonin, however, is a real substance, and it does work. Unfortunately, it is illegal in Thailand.

Best way to avoid jet lag is to work up your sleeping and eating patterns an hour at a time, day by day, for however many time zones you intend to cross. Don't drink alcohol or take benzos on the plane. Try to sleep on the plane in sequence with the sleeping pattern at your destination.

Good luck conquering the jet lag, let us know.

Yep, agree. I start about two weeks in advance bij going to bed 1 hour more early, I hardly experience any jetlag, coming or going. I still feel funky, though, for months!

I take my noise cancelling headphones, drink plenty of water, get some exercise on the plane (get out of seat, if safe, do some stretching out of the way, by the doors is good) and if possible, sleep. Then depending upon arrival time adjust to local time as quickly as possible.

If arriving in the morning, get some exercise, drink a lot of water and stay awake until your normal bedtime. If arriving at night, hit the sack and wake up at your normal time. Then do your normal activities.

Melatonin is illegal here? I had no idea, I've had it shipped here in the past and I guess customs didn't know what they were looking at and just let it through. I could have sworn I'd seen it at Pharmachoice but must have been mistaken.

I've taken Atarax as a temporary sleep aid before, it has a stronger effect on me than melatonin (fall asleep with 20-30 minutes) though from the googling and broscience research I did melatonin is better for me.

I have recently bought Melatonin in Thailand. No Melatonin Swat team has arrested me or the shop so far.

Melatonin is available here. I've bought it locally and had it shipped from abroad for years. No problems. It is classified as a food supplement or additive and exists in a legal limbo -- neither legal nor illegal.

It is definitely cheaper getting it shipped from the US.
