Question is; with BKK PTY Hospital so close, why was the 18 year old taken to Banglamung Hospital, which is a very small hospital and quiet far from the scene of the shooting?

My question is different: why was it possible that the 15y old was brough to BPH, one of the most expensive hospitals on the whole subcontinent?

Normally BPH is not for the pleps.

BPH would do only very basic first aid and throw him out ASAP (if at all).

Or this 15y old is from a privileged family and has an appropriate insurance?

Banglamung is small? Its THE public/state hospital for the region.

The waiting hall had quite a size wink.png

Was there only once with a sick friend.

We gave up after about two hours and moved on.

The country has been awash with guns for years but control never seems to be a priority.

According to the Small Arms Survey 48 662 988 persons in the age group 15-65 in Thailand owned estimated 10 000 000 small arms in 2011. Now add the unregistered weapons to it. Looks like the weaponless people in this country could gather in a football stadium.

Remember the scheme when they offered officials to buy guns for a 50% discount before Yingluck's reign?

This is getting ridiculous, lawless state with everyone armed to the teeth!

Why are you referring to the US in this discussion? smile.png

Where is Irishsmile referring to the US? Have I missed something?

I was being facetious. His statement, given the context, was a perfect description of the US... if you've ever been exposed to US domestic news, you'd know that these sort of things happen on a regular/daily basis there (especially in places like Chicago and Detroit).

Why does it matter where their injuries were treated? Do you have an issue with"plebs", as you put it, being treated in what you consider to be an expensive hospital?

Maybe one injury was more serious than the other, requiring more sophisticated care. Banglamung Hospital is fine for general diagnosis and care. It's not fancy but the the medical care is decent. Would I go there...no, but it's good care.
