August 13, 200619 yr I was just wondering if anyone had seen any kite boarding or kite buggying in mainland Thailand? I do power kiting back in the UK and use fields that are about 20 acres of reasonably flat land, but generally all the flat land I have seen in Thailand either has construction or agriculture present. Has anyone noticed any sites that could be used, particularly around Chiang Mai? - not including football fields that is! I know kite surfing is done seasonally in Thailand but in the five months i have spent in Thailand I have never seen any kite buggying or boarding. I'm hoping to move to Thailand ASAP and I'm just wondering whether to sell my equipment - decisions, decisions Thanks all - khop khun khrap Here's a pic of kite buggying

August 15, 200619 yr Not as much wind inland, and the water is warm, so most people kite in the sea. Since I windsurf, and having seen first hand how many prangs you guys have, and how out of control most of you are, I would say doing it in the sea is probably the safer option :-) Other than Oct/Nov, you could probably kite year round at Pattaya area, windy enough most days for at least some sailing - maybe 5 out of every 7 days a week with a massive kite; I know I could do formula style windsurfing with an 11m on most days....
