max72 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 In Merchant Marine school they teach to tie all knots behind your back. I just tied both arms behind my back moments ago. Not that hard. How does one tie string around their hands behind their back? The question is why he should have done that ?? I don't believe to this bull...t. This is the same story again. 1
kwak250 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Depends how long your arms are i suppose ? If your knuckles drag on the floor while walking my guess is that it would be easy 2
Anthony5 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 If CSI TV says it is murder, who are the RTP to say it's suicide. Can you show me a quote of where CSI has said this is a case of murder? So far in this thread only I can see at least 20 posts that question that the victim would have been able to tie his hands behind his back, then put his head through the noose and jump. So they clearly dispute it is a suicide. If it isn't possible that the victim committed suicide according to those members, then what you think they are suggesting, if not murder?
MyrH Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 How does one tie string around their hands behind their back? ...and then pass their head through the string hanging from the ceiling?
kwak250 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I would say it was suicide . The tied hands may well have been very loosely tied giving more slack to get your legs through As another reply mentioned you would automatically try to save yourself if you didnt .
MyrH Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 How does one tie string around their hands behind their back? You tie your hands round your front and then step through them - after 12 hours of drinking it's simple. How did he get the rope around his neck with his hands tied behind his back? Give that a try and get back to me. Put the rope around your neck first, tied you hand in front of you then step through them...and jump! Oudini did that every days Pffff but if he did leave a suicide note why go through the trouble of getting his hands tied behind his back standing on a stool with a rope around his neck? 1
ToddinChonburi Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 There is no investigation what so ever it seems. Now did he stand on the rail or a chair ? His friends left him at the bar ? nice friends 1
bridge2bridge Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I wonder, who wrote the suicide note? RIP Dimitri. My thoughts too. Typical Thai police. TOO HARD BASKET. Suicide less paper work.
Popular Post NanLaew Posted January 5, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2015 How does one tie string around their hands behind their back? In Merchant Marine school they teach to tie all knots behind your back. I just tied both arms behind my back moments ago. Not that hard....and then you managed to type the above post? Amazing! 3
Equalizer Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 In Merchant Marine school they teach to tie all knots behind your back. I just tied both arms behind my back moments ago. Not that hard. How does one tie string around their hands behind their back? And you managed to type on the PC as well. WOW lets all swan off to merchant marine school. Jim you must be a lonely man up there.
fgh654vb Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 If this unfortunate incident occurred in a "vacuum" one would still need to consider the high possibility of it being a homicide given the unusual circumstances. HOWEVER, this incident did not occur in a vacuum. There have been numerous mysterious deaths of foreigners all over Thailand, many which have been casually explained as suicide. Therefore, there is a need to bring cutting edge state of the art investigations into this incident as well as all the "cold cases." This is unlikely to happen under the current "business as usual" standard operating procedures.
Popular Post oneday Posted January 5, 2015 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2015 Let's just put a tiny bit of thought into this. If this drunk man actually did manage to tie his hands together he would have had to do it with his hands in front of him. He would have had to probably use his teeth to tie the knot. So was the knot checked for saliva or was a DNA sample done on the string to ascertain if his saliva was on the string? Now if you are going to get your hands behind your back and, as many have said, that isn't easy for most people let alone a drunk person, then you have to step through them. So if you think real carefully about it, the "knot" on the string would be between his hands and his backside if he tied it and stepped through his hands. If someone else tied the knot, while his hands were behind him, then the knot would be on the outside of his hands. Have they analyzed the hand-writing on the note as actually being his? Did they look for signs of struggle? People can be threatened into writing suicide notes. Have they interviewed his friends? Have they determined he really did have a girlfriend named Iris? What does she say? Also, this report DID NOT reiterate that his hands were behind his back, it only confirmed they were tied. That is a real critical piece of information very much worth repeating if it was true. I blame the reporter for a horribly written story and the police for releasing any information at all, except that someone was found dead, unless it is complete information. Same thing they did with the British couple who were murdered on Koh Tao. What a horribly written piece of trash. 9
SOTIRIOS Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 ....in a civilized world all deaths warrant an investigation..... 1
DoctorG Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I wonder, who wrote the suicide note? RIP Dimitri. My thoughts too. Typical Thai police. TOO HARD BASKET. Suicide less paper work. I hope that the note was written in French. 2
razer Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Ruling suicide saves time and is less work and there is no profit in investigating deaths under suspicious circumstances.
uktony Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Is somebody keeping track of all these Falang "suicides?" Is a new year. Start a tally for 2015
Jack Mountain Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Someone who goes to Koh Tao must be suicidal after all the news reports about that island ... or just plain stupid ofcourse ...
kiwikeith Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I wonder, who wrote the suicide note? RIP Dimitri. Was it written in Thai by a Thai girl called Iris then its obvious suicide.
fgh654vb Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Where are the investigative reporters now that we need them? Oh. They've all committed suicide?
AnotherOneAmerican Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Frenchman named Dmitri writes suicide note in English, then hangs himself with his hands tied behind his back, while falling down drunk. Amazing Thailand. 2
mikemac Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 If CSI TV says it is murder, who are the RTP to say it's suicide. That's right, CSI TV are never wrong and will wrap this case up quick smart. They will probably announce a long list of suspects in the coming hours.
Briggsy Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 The police statement did not even identify the guy.
EnglishJohn Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 When the Thai police make themselves open to ridicule like this, why don't they make some kind of a public statement to explain why they came up with their conclusion and remove the speculation ?. On the face of it, managing to tie your hands behind your back (virtually impossible anyway I think) then climbing up, putting your head through a noose and hanging yourself seems a bit far fetched, especially after 12 hours drinking. Why would anyone tie their hands anyway ?. Until we get some proper answers, my thoughts are that either we are getting some extremely poor reporting here or the police are covering up yet another murder. Past experience points to the latter. 2
newcomer71 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I'm open minded and I consider both possibilities valid. It could have been a homicide like a suicide as well. What I can say is that I couldn't tell without doubts it was one or another, and a real full investigation is owed. I wouldn't link this with the infamous September murders, but sure also this case has some shadows. 1
rainman333 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 just another murder on murder island, what else is new? 2
jamiesilver Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 so you manage to tie your hands together in front of you - then you step through them - OK i get that...But how does one then put a noose over ones head, then stand on a chair?
CMCMANGOMAN Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Apparently, the "suicide" note was written in ancient San skirt and a forensic Thai monk was called in to translate the note via chanting and going through Frenchy's pockets. Sure enough, the monk confirmed suicide and 320 baht in small change. Conclusion: Angry Ghost. Case spiritually CLOSED. 1
KissMyAxe Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 How does one tie string around their hands behind their back? You tie your hands round your front and then step through them - after 12 hours of drinking it's simple. BUT after he has done what you say and his hands are behind his neck how does he put the rope around his neck?
GAZZPA Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 So how did he tie his hands behind his own back, put the noose around his neck and jump of the balcony after a heavy drinking session? Also, why would he tie his hands together anyway? Cant really blame the social media network for lighting up over this one can you. Guess we will never know,, RIP poor fella. 1
