Hi All

I've posted on here a few times over the last couple of years .

A friend of mine brought his then girlfriend to the uk on a visitors visa this time last year which he paid a agency to do his paper work . In return to Thailand they decided to marry .

Over the coming months she was to take the English test to apply for the settlement visa . But she failed she had to take all 4 . Now the agency didn't show him the paper work .

Q is the agency suppose to show the paper work ?

I know her and she speaks limited English but probably enough to pass A1 English .

So to move on the agency advised that she apply for a visitors visa to pick more English up while in the uk so this is what they did with in a week of applying she went for a interview . A month passed by and this week they was refused the visa .

Again the agency hasn't shown them the refusal letter and told them that the embassy had given to many visitors visa out and to apply again .

So with his head up is arse he is doing .

Q do people applying have to go and give biometrics for a visitors visa ( I didn't when I brought my then girlfriend)

Me personally don't think she will get the visa

Sounds like your friend used a back street cowboy outfit, not a qualified agency, there are very few in Thailand.

The advice that you say was given, is absolutely wrong, a visit visa is just that, a visa to allow the holder to visit the UK on holiday, not to brush up on language skills.

Yes, the applicant has to visit the application centre in Bangkok in person, lodge a hard copy of the application, the supporting documents and have their biometric details captured, there is no interview.

The applicant has every right to take possession of the notice of refusal, assuming the application was indeed lodged, did she apply herself online, or did the agent "take care" of everything?

It's absolute rubbish to suggest that the visa wasn't issued because the Embassy has issued too many, if the applicant can convince the ECO that the proposed visit was genuine, affordable and that she's likely to return at the conclusion of the visit, then a visa will be issued, there is no quota.

It's highly unlikely that she had an interview. From the timings you have given, she probably applied online, went to submit the application a week later ( at which time she would have given biometrics - even for a visitor visa).

The agency should give her the refusal notice. Or rather, there is no reason why they shouldn't. She can get a copy from the Embassy, by writing to them, or we could get it for her.

The agent has done everything . They sorted the previous visa out and his marriage and the English test which Upto now he hasn't paid the last 2 . I have given him advice has I am married to a thai but I did it myself so I was in full control but he got his head in the clouds thinking he can throw money and get her to the uk .

Just out of interest is it just Pearson and toeic who do the test in Bangkok
