1 AM fireworks on Chao Praya river opposite Peninsula hotel <deleted>!

I live in The River condos next to the Peninsula hotel and got woken at 1AM when a barge full of fireworks did its thing for about 7 mins.

This is 1 AM. Everyone at every nearby hotel and residence would have been woken up.

Was it an official commemoration (I can handle that) or just some rich bastard showing off?

If rich bastard is there any chance this was illegal? Any chance of fines?

Rich bastard & fines = oxymoron; the pairing of opposites. Whilst we're on noise. Thai music/karaoke till 1.30am blasting out in quiet Bang Saray irrespective of 4 nearby housing estates complete with children going to school five or six hours later. Brainless; thoughtless; selfish; unnecessary; half the volume would still bring about premature deafness amongst the audience.

Haven't you figured out that most Thai people could sleep through Armageddon! Never mind a few fireworks or a karaoke!!

Isn't that what this thread is about, someone trying to imply that he's a rich bastard whose sleep was disturbed for all of 7 minutes?

You live in one of the most expensive luxury apartment towers in the country. Half the building is probably planning a 1am fireworks show for their birthday party now 555

I thought this thread would be about a beautiful giant fireworks that would make everyone happy...

No, it's again about the "rich"... "Rich bastards" on top of that.

Many people are speaking about free speech at the moment (following the Paris events), ... I would love to see the Thais (especially the rich ones) come on this forum and use their "free speech rights" to say what they think about the bitter boring farangs... For a change.

I wonder why you feel the need to write the word "bastard".
