NRC discusses successful vision for Thailand

BANGKOK, 19 January 2015 (NNT) - The National Reform Council (NRC) has held a meeting on how to create a successful vision for social and economic stability for Thailand.

Suwit Maesinsri, Chairman of the NRC subcommittee on designing Thailand’s vision, yesterday delivered a speech on the future of Thailand in 2032. According to him, Thai people’s lack of national unity has led to disillusionment and allowed for corruption to foster.

Globalization in the future may lead to more frequent and violent clashes over ideologies and resources. This would in turn have negative consequences on geographic, economic and social stability, which could lead to a decline in rice exports if Thailand fails to take preemptive measures.Thailand, therefore, must strive for a healthy society and complete democracy. It must also increase the income of its citizens.

Mr. Suwit suggested that, in order to better handle the country’s problems, a clear vision is essential in setting the nation's short- and long-term goals. A successful vision must be ambitious yet realistically achievable, balanced, and takes into consideration the views of all sides.

"Thai people’s lack of national unity has led to disillusionment and allowed for corruption to foster"

I don't think they lack of national unity so much but more they lack of education and sometimes common sense.

And it was not the elite that kept them blind all these years but the dubious megalomaniac politicians that kept them in the dark to achieve their own interests.

Time has come for all this to change.....and it will change as there are good people leading the country now, and they are only interested for the good of Thailand and not only how to stuff their own pockets.
