We are due to fly to the UK in Dec 2015 and i was wondering how soon i would be able to apply for a visa for my girlfriend? We went to the UK last April with no problems. However, we are due our second child in June and i don't think she will return to work for at least a year which may have an effect on the visa application process......???

My thinking is, if we apply around May then we will have all the relevant paperwork to make it simple. Or will they be lenient do you think? I don't know how they opperate!

Your girlfriend can apply three months before her proposed date of travel, she can also ask for the visa to be post dated, it's not a case of being lenient it's that circumstances can change over a longer period.

I wouldn't worry too much about her not being able to work due to the birth of your child, ECO's will understand that. If you're living together in Thailand, that will certainly help her application providing you can satisfy the ECO that you also have ties to Thailand.
