With so much delicious food in Thailand I

Have often wondered why anyone would buy any of that crap.

and you have the gall to post this when we are still recovering from the chicken blood fiasco. (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/791723-chicken-blood-banned-in-food/) yes it got me too, or the fish sauce not far back, the vegetable pesticide fiasco a while back, the melanime milk (got me too), do i need to go on?
You might like to google what's in some if that rubbish you are eating from 7/11, like for instance what chemicals are in that plastic cheese. 5555

.

Just read an article where McDonalds admitted they have get this 19 ingredients .

In their french fries.

Yup, those ain't potatoes you are eating.

Wow. Lol. What the h e l l.

It's no wonder cancers and obesity are such a problem.

Although I am confused by the term soap cheese, I am discouraged to hear they may have changed the taste of the ham and cheese toastys.

That is my road trip food of choice, or alternately the duo chicken pizza toastys. I will have one today to see if I can discern a difference.

Neverdie I am not sure why you have an issue with grabbing a sandwich at 7-11. That is not exactly an unusual activity. And it is a nice break from Thai food. Yes Thai food is wonderful, but if you were back in the west, would you want it for every meal?

At the risk of sounding argumentative , I actually eat 99% of my meals Thai style, even overseas, excluding jaunts to Singapore & HK.

I was brought up on it, I can't eat tasteless farang food. I smear virtually everything in chilli.

When in Oz & if invited to eat western food prepared by a friend, I always chew it thinking it tAstes like nothing, void of all the things I love lol.

We make western food at home, such as pizza, the wife even makes the bases from scratch, topping has all sorts of Thai goodies in them .

I do like eating fresh bread made from a bakery like brumbies.....still hot & smeared with butter! SO HEALTHY 55555. Thais can't bake bread, always sweet and yuk, I dunno.

The chese I referred to was that individually sliced stuff, wrapped in plastic. That's the bad one . I don't know the one neversure is talking about.

If your gonna make a toastie in Thailand, at least get some good kiwi cheese on it !

Crikey, you are what you eat !

So does my backup pilot, when he's not off to Texas to fetch some barbeque.

I have to admit that this thread is a great one for me.

In almost 4 years, I haven't had the courage to try eating anything from 7-11, except potato chips and the seasonal moon cakes. Now I'm hearing that some of the pre-packaged "fresh" stuff is, in fact, edible.

What else do you folks like from the seven menu?

Unlike neverdie, I can't take Thai street spicy. Even the stuff they swear is not spicy sends me to Boots for antacids (edit: or Imodium).

I like the tuna sandwiches at 24Baht, also the fish burgers, my biggest complaint is it seems to be hard to find something without cheese in it, and I don't like cheese.

Its truly the bottom of the food barrel on this thread.....I find it astonishing how many tourists I see buying these microwave ping meals along the 7/11's of Sukhumvit.

Surely if you are going on holiday you can afford to eat proper food?

Thailand is one of the best places in the world to get cheap, tasty and nutritious food!

I'm staggered that anyone would buy 'food' from 7-11. I is truly awful. Full of chemicals, several days old when it arrives and can supposedly last several weeks.

Ive stood there at the 7-11 and watched them butter the bread, put on a slice of cheese and ham then slide it into the toastie machine... would hardly call this being several days old would you ?.

I suppose if you are in Nakon Nowhere its fair enough but to buy that rubbish in Bangkok when there are thousands of better options, including plenty of cheese toastie places using real cheese, is just sad.

So you scrutinised the expiry dates on all the components of said toastie then before it was expertly cooked by7/11 team of executive chefs ?

i personally see nothing wrong with grabbing a sanswich at 7-11.

It is feeling justified in complaining it is <deleted> that bothers me

Moved to Expat Life.

given what i am reading here, the term 'life' sounds optimistic when not used in conjunction with the word 'sentence'

What the heck is a "toastie" and why do I suspect it is a British gourmet item?

I think Brits must be responsible for the sales of most of the tasteless junk sold by seven eleven.

After all, England is known world wide for the most bland tasteless food in the world.

Get out and live a little.

Eat some real food with some flavor and a little spice!

A little vinigar on your fish and chips does not qualify!

No 7-11s in the UK. A Japanese invention, I think, or am I getting mixed up with Family Mart? That said, the US is responsible for most of the homogenised crap that sullies our taste buds. I once went the Great Wall of China as a tourist and the first thing I saw when getting off the bus was a KFC. Dispiriting or what? Pizza Hut was next door. If you're going to eat cheese slices, go for Dairylea.

Nope...7/11....Southland Corp. Bought out by the Japanese.....Kfc.....well , another one...pepsi...coke....I think the list is endless........Even the automotive industry.....where does it end ...indeed ?. No country in the World has the right to assert dominance no matter what century.....No 7/11's in the UK. Thats the bar.....forget the Godforsaken golden arches.....or Starcraps........or the ability of one nation to pretty much shape the face of the World....

lets all get together at the UN and elect another nation to take old Lady Liberies Place....

Nick!

Are you o.k.?

Do you need a doctor?

Or maybe just an education...

" The right to assert domination" belongs to whoever has the motivation and resources to achieve that position.

It is not a position anyone has ever been elected to, it is a position that is earned. This is not high school, and popularity contest do not apply here.

This is the real world and a capitalistic world.

The strength and power of any business is determined by the number of people who choose to use and support that business.

Did you really think an organization like the UN has any influence over this at all?

People like you scare me Nick.

Someone should be taking care of you and I do not think anyone wants the task.

Good lord lad......Ive in no need of an education but a dr....well depends on what shes wearing.........Glad you jumped at that Sir..... I will never apologize for the right of my sarcasm.....I love my ultra right roots....

The 7/11 spaghetti carbonara toastie makes a nice change. The rice and crab bowl was also tasty. Cheap and convenient probably enhanced with msg but excellent snacks

had one of these the other day on your recommendation danish carbonara toastie or something like that. was ok filled the need for cheese but wont be repeating quickly. as you say something different for occasional. not a daily like ham and cheese was.

Nope not tried it yet.

CP pepper chicken burgers go alright in an emergency.

agree, the terryaki ones are ok too.

they've switched these terriaki burgers to "japanese sauce" cant see terriaki there any more. still got the terriaki chicken in a plastic box, probably the longest run munchie line and still a frequent buy for me. wasnt impressed when they stopped the seaweed wrapped chicken a while back now. these days i have to look long and hard to make any choice, not so long ago it was deciding which to have of the many goodies, now its ok i'll have this only one.
