Yes I have read that but I have a agent in bkk doing the work preparing the visa application for me would I still pay online and is this in gbp or thail baht what kind of exchange rate as it is a lot of money

I am surprised your agent has not told you all this.

The fee is actually £885; it used to be payable in local currency.

But last year the government changed this and now insist applicants pay in USD at a rate favourable to them; hence, currently, the fee you will pay is, as FTC says above, $1513. But this may change if UKVI change the exchange rate they use.

(The government have come up with a string of very feeble excuses for charging in USD rather than Sterling; see this long topic)

The fee has to be paid online when the online application is submitted and the appointment made to submit biometrics and supporting documents.

Then the application is printed out, signed by the applicant and taken to the appointment.

I suggest you have a read of UK settlement visa basics to make sure there isn't anything else your agent hasn't told you.
