Bale's mouthpiece making noise. He sounds like a <deleted>, but then don't they all.

http://espnfc.com/news/story?id=1462902&cc=4716

I'm thinking Levy better show his hand and splurge some money for attacking help for Bale or things could get dicey. With all the romancing Bale is going to receive, Levy better make a move before Bale starts to swoon. The more I think about it, why would Bale return to Spurs if there is no major upgrade in attacking talent to help him ? He could bolt, make as much money or more elsewhere, play CL football and is Bob your uncle ?thumbsup.gif

£33 million - yeah right - Daniel Levy struggled to give a £20 tip for a FREE meal when he sat next to me at a Casino Restaurant several years ago......

He paid 16m for a little known croat, when 16 m was a lot of money for a midfielder, specially one that was reckoned to be 2 small by the library boys cheerleader.

And we all know how that relationship ended.....

But you could have got a lot more BUT again Levy took it all personally - would not grant the move and the ended up leaving anyway - what was the point - might as well have sold him for top dollar and brought in quality and bedded that player in - that player might have been the catalyst for 4th place this season...

Man ,,this argument is so done!!!! and what your saying about more money levy ect ect is mainly poor tabloid speculation but any way,35ish mil for a midfielder who don't score regularly, 4 me is top dollar, you may consider other wise, but there we go, football.

Mate, and i'm not saying this just because it's about bale, but the espn football news in terms of football gossip pecking order comes, imo, right down there with the star. But 1stly, from the spurs side of things i don't think it was politic thing atm 2 be going on a chat show 2 talk about bale, but he doesn't rep' spurs he rep's bale!!! but from those quotes I cant particularly see anything thats unexpected or terrible in what he's said.

I feel a bit sorry for Bale. If he has a chance to join a great club like Real Madrid or Man United it's the chance of a lifetime and clubs, whoever they be, are interested in him now. If by chance he starts next season with a series of crappy performances or gets badly injured early on, the interest will soon wane. I can see it from Bale, Levy the potential buyer and the fans point of view.

So your saying Bale's agent didn't say what he said ? What f'ing difference does it make if he was quoted by ESPN, as long as he was quoted by more "reputable" news agencies ? My point being that Spurs management better get off their slack butts and bring in some support or they stand a chance to lose Bale. I don't think that is a particularly profound insight. Just stating what would be obvious to most. I have no dog in the fight and don't care whether he stays or goes.rolleyes.gif

If the club don't show Bale some ambition to take it to the next level i don't blame him leaving. I'll totally accept it. Up until now they have not and its high time they showed Bale and the fans they do have that ambition because up till now its woefully lacking.

On a point of Bale as a professional he's top draw. Doesn't drink, trains hard, family man, keeps out of the media, a great example. Time will tell but i'll judge him when the window closes but one thing he's not, he's no Modric

I don't see Bale rushing into a contract extension.

If better players arrive he might....but there is no rush for him at all.

i'd be surprised if he left this summer, very surprised. He likes working with AVB and as you say, theres no rush

Sticking him into the Galacticos puts him in an completely different earnings bracket.

Plus his agent is on for a massive comish off the transfer fee, so you can bet he'll be pushing hard for it.

Of coarse it matters who reports it, but if you want to go with espn fine, but the guardian, not perfect, but perhaps gives a more accurate picture,

"If Florentino [Pérez, the Real president] is interested in Gareth Bale, it would be an honour and we'd listen," Barnett said. "But his contract is with Tottenham. We aren't free to talk with anybody at the moment, that's the point we're at.

"I can understand a lot of teams are interested in him. He's a great player but he has a contract with Tottenham. I don't know if there has been a bid [from Real]. What I do know is that the player has three years left on his contract."

note the big mention of 3 years left on his contract, arguably, putting the strength ATM with tottenham and Note the NO INTEREST from perez, so we're dealing with total speculation really, and as Carmine said b4 is their enuf room in madrids starting 11 for him and ronaldo?, a perez's election campaign seems to publicly hinge on re signing Ronaldo, give ronny another year, then the elections wont be an issue, ronaldo can leave to a final huge pay day and bale can slot into the FIRST 11, leaving spurs with a nice tidy 60m ish? cheque,,,

Santos held 100% of his registration. In the end, Barcelona
reportedly agreed to pay Santos and those partners around €28m, plus a
further €30m to the player and close to €9m in agents' fees. A down
payment of €10m had already been made in January 2011. Neymar will sign a
five-year contract on a salary of €7m a season. In total, that means
the package is worth more than €100m.

I could be wrong but I believe the way they put the 'final' package together in s/a is different, all parties are independent and listed seperatly, Think in the uk traditionally all will be lumped together as one.

Bale will not be going anywhere just yet

However no CL next season and he is off

I think if Man U had signed Mourinho up - Bale would be off this season

I think sunday roasts are best served with parsnips and sprouts

Its rather quiet on the transfer front. Must be because everyones sunning it up in the Bahamas at uncle Joe's gaff!

With Bale almost certain to stay this is probably Levy's most important transfer summer. Three quality players in and about six to let go. Gomes, Bentley, Gallas, Parker Dempsey and one of the strikers depending on the incomings. No one seems to know whats going on with Rose or BAE.

I hope we keep Hudd, Livermore and Carroll

Well carms, don't think we need Hudd if we keep Liv and Carroll, still have Dem, the beast, Holt and perhaps newbie.

Listened to an audio of Sherwood yesterland and he really rates Carroll, so expect to see more of him next season and perhaps no need for a newbie smile.png

Think we could get good money for Hudd too. was AVB putting in the shop window for the last couple of months?
