Best Song of Past 100 Years? Your Vote?
Would agree, also still playing. As is Steve Hackett, his "Circus and the Nightwhale" album released in February this year, shows he's still developing, not just resting on his laurels. Having said that, Dave's new album "Luck and Strange", released in April, which he says is his best since Dark Side. I would disagree, great orchestrations and solo's, a bit of a family affair, as daughter Romany and sons Joe and Cgarlie all guest, plus wife Polly Samson provides most of the lyrics. It's a nice album, not his best. The best is Jeff Beck, sadly no longer with us. Still developing and playing up until his death in January last year. His control and mastery made him the guitarist's guitarist. Having just played a 2 hour set at Ronnie Scott's, his encore track is just amazing. -

Daikin - the worst garbage aircon
Well I have a completely opposite story. With our properties we have over 50 aircons, 80% being Daikin. And other than a shorted electronic board in one unit (lizard) which was still under warranty I have never any problems with Daikin (as opposed to some of the LG and Samsung I had previously). Daikin inverter units are excellent. On our apartment complex I now replace with 'hi-sense', mostly because of the cost (and some of the other brands like 'hi-sense' are a good buy). So for me Daikin, yes are expensive, but in my opinion one the best on the market at that price range. Of course there will be a few more posts disliking them, but at least you have my opinion. -

As you very well know Guernica was a highly limited experimental operation. It was in no way a targeted, systematic carpet bombing campaign to which the Luftwaffe allocated all its resources, like the RAF did with bombing German civilians after May 1940. Rotterdam was of course a mere pretext. It is a mendacious lie to suggest the British used Strategic bombing as retribution for Rotterdam, which was an accidental bombing of a butter factory anyway in the course of a major military operation. The real reason why the British switched to bombing civilians was not Rotterdam, but rather the fact that the RAF suffered unsustainable losses in daylight raids on military targets. That coupled with Britain's inability to fight back with her army in any meaningful way. The figures provided for the Rotterdam bombing are false, 814 civilians died in the Rotterdam bombing.
