Estate Agents / Developers

Hi Folks

Can anybody recommend a reputable estate agency that can assist with dealing with the banks in regards to obtaining morgages? Or has anybody had dealings with actual developers who offer finance on properties?

We have found a couple of places we are interested in, and now want to go ahead and see if we can purchase, what I don't want to do is put down a deposit and then find and we are not eligable for a morgage and lose the deposit...... I have learnt the hard way with this before in Bangkok, luckily we were re-embursed of our 20% after a lengthy legal struggle.

The price range we are looking at is in the region of 5-6mil, and I understand that some banks give upto 90% (can anybody confirm this)?

Paying back the finance is no problem.... I understand the route we are going in that my wife will have to apply, with her taking care of our children full time and not working, will this stand against us on the application? there is more than enough income coming in each month to pay back the morgage should we be accepted and I have all the correct documents to show the banks.

I would be grateful if any of you guy's could share your experience with this if you have been in the same situation.

Thanks in advance

If you have a workpermit and a good income you may be able to get a good mortgage - 90% sounds like a lot though. If not I think you'll find 50% max, that has been my experience. I'd be happy to be corrected on that though :o

Thanks for the input Phil

I have also been told 50% before (for farang), however in Bangkok we did receive 85% from Siam Bank, its just that the development fell through.

On some of the payment schemes on the of the properties I have seen, the payment also reflects over a 90% morgage....maybe this only applies to Thai couples? Im confused?
