My friend has just book a ticket and has accomodation included, she also booking a transit coach to the hotel next to MBK, flight centre are charging her $80 AU (2400 baht approx) for to and from. I said wayyyyyyyyy to much.

I told her to take a taxi, how much you think it would cost each way approx.

From Don Muang to MBK roughly THB 350.- plus Toll , apprTHB 60.-.

One way around THB 400.- , but depends on traffic as well,max. THB 500.- with a normal Taxi.

What the new airport, coz they will be there in November.

Judging from the distance it should be same , but as mentioned in other threads I do not know if pubic taxi will be available at the arrival area .

Beware of pubic taxis.

From City to new airport Bus is 40 baht, Taxi is expected to be meter approx 300 baht plus 70 baht Toll way. Limo around 1500 baht plus toll way.

Nov might be still at the old airport.
