The house, which doubled as a grocery store, was totally destroyed.Fire fighters tried to rescue Taewan, 42, Vanida Bunkod, 15 and Vuttichai Srithopathum, 5 who were trapped inside the house. However, their attempts were thwarted by an electrical door that couldn't be opened and iron grilles on the bedroom windows.Their bodies were found inside the house and police later said the three had died of smoke inhalation. The husband, Bunpeng, confirmed that the house was a grocery store and had only one exit, which was the front door. The fire spread fast because there was oil in the house. The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit but no definitive conclusion will be drawn until the forensic team has completed their investigation.Source: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/national/Three-die-in-Kalasin-house-fire-30253369.html-- The Nation 2015-02-04
Issangeorge Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 One reason I would not allow bars on my upstairs windows, in case of fire there is no way in or out. I also don't lock the door when I'm home. My condolences to the relatives and friends of those poor people who died. 1
