Submitted UK Visa application at Trendy on Friday 6th February.

Decision notice received by email 10 minutes ago.

Well ahead of their published targets and beats last times 9 working days.

Went to Trendy Monday 2nd. Feb. Got decision e-mail Thursday 5th. & document package delivered to home on Monday 9th.

3 days for decision, 1 week to get passport back.

This was a standard application, not fast-track. Also, not Mrs. L's first visa.

Bloody good service, I say. Well done to the Visa people.

Visa approved, BTW smile.png .

Glad to hear they're getting them processed quickly at the moment, my sister in law will be submitting her visit visa application in the next few days; as soon as she receives our supporting documents.

But she can beat the above; when she applied last time, application submitted Monday morning, passport with visa in it collected Tuesday afternoon!

quick indeed... submitted my fiancee visit visa on the 9th feb and got it back today - approved :)

I also just want to thank 7by7 and theoldgit who really helped me out with some points regarding our app. As someone who has no experience with this sort of thing their advice was invaluable.

Me (Brit) my Thai wife and our son (Brit) will visit UK at some point after Songkran. My wife already visited UK 3 years ago for Xmas and New Year and was granted a visa for visit to my family, She is a Government Thai teacher, has plenty of money in the bank where her salary is paid and has confirmed employment. College will certify leave of absence. Return tickets for all three of us no problem. I have lived here for nine years, married for five of those.

Will she need to go all the way to Bangkok to apply for a UK visit visa this time around? Or does past history and supporting evidence count for anything?....... application by post..... maybe?

Thanks for any advise from those with recent experience.

your situation sounds very similar to mine... my fiancee also works in a government school and we are visiting the UK on the school holiday.

my understanding is that each application is judged on its own individual merits and must be submitted it BKK... which is annoying for me as I live in the south of Thailand (much closer to KL than BKK)

All UK visa applications now have to be made online. The fee also has to be paid online; in USD!bah.gif

At the end of the online process the applicant makes an appointment to attend the UKVAC to hand in a signed hardcopy of the online form, their supporting documents and have their biometrics taken.

See How to apply.

Nick123999 is correct; each application is judged on it's own merits, and although a previous successful application(s) can help, the applicant needs to show that the criteria are met this time around.

They also need to submit biometrics, even if they have done so before, to show that it is the same person. Not everyone is as honest as we are!

Thanks for this up to date info. Very useful. I think this time we'll all go to BKK and take a mini-break.

Come on UK this is Sooooo unnecessary given the euro failures we endure on a daily basis together with the millions paid out on the social for anyone not married to a Brit. Harrumph. Humbug.
