Why is it that ordinary non drug users such as my self, know where drugs are available, but the Samui police do not appear to know where these dealers are. Drugs are freely available from a dealer on the beach at Maenam who has traded there for at least a couple of years.

1. the same cops that illegally accept money to let drunk drivers go about their business after payment of a bribe?

2. the same cops that illegally allow the massage shops to provide happy endings on the premises?

3. the same cops who illegally allow street vendors to block public footpaths so you don't have to walk too far for your noodles?

4. the same cops who illegally let traders in human misery traffic pretty girls to bars that allow prostitution on the premises?

I asked a similar question to a cop in my hometown. That's the answer I got : If they close the traffic at one place, it will reappear at an other place. So it's better to let it go in places where the "honest" people are not inconvenienced, basically not in areas where they live, and just monitor the place to make from time to time the arrests required by the hierarchy. Very cynical indeed.

You are being silly. In 2015 entry level police with the RTP do NOT earn 6500 per month. That's less than what factory workers from Burma make.

I don't agree.. Holland shows you why. But its hard to get the die hard anti dug people to believe that.

People have been using drugs since the dawn of time its not going away accept it. Using drugs should not be illegal, but crimes should be. So if you steal you go to jail also if you steal to buy drugs. If you use drugs and don't form a problem (like the majority of users) there is no problem. Just take care of the those that do cross the line and stop moaning about it.

If you see how much drugs are used.. and you look at how many times it goes wrong.. then you know that the majority are not a problem. But that is it with cops and moralist they like to ban it as it makes their job easier. They love to control others kinda like religious fanatics.

I love how more and more countries are now legalizing weed. Its only a matter of time till the die hard anti drug campaigners loose it.

Let everyone have a drug license.. free to use what they want.. (alcohol included) but if they ever get caught violent on drugs (alcohol included) or operating a car under the influence of drugs. Then that license gets suspended with high pentalties if they do use drugs then.

This way you have legal drugs of good quality of low price and you take out of the equation those that cause trouble on drugs and don't infringe on the privileges of those that can use drugs and not misbehave.

Instead of working on the assumption that everyone who uses drugs is a criminal and misbehaves. (alcohol is a hard drug too guys)

Anyway this is far to advanced for the die hard anti drugs crusaders.

I have known plenty of people doing drugs holding a normal job and even doing the harder stuff occasionally. Thank god that use is not illegal in the Netherlands but possession is and more often then not its all allowed. Especially in low quantities. and guess what we got low crime statistics and not much problems. Now look at the USA where they criminalize drugs and put everyone in jail. But even there they are waking up.
