Well when will the government start to give us Bangkokians clean air? Look at the vehicles down the road, big bigger biggest engine and nothing is done to reduce that.

Or boycot those smoking bbq's down the streets, burning fires against the cold, burning garbage containers full of plastics.

Sportclubs are too expensive anyway and why do smokers/drinkers have to pay for the ones who eat themselves too fat. Look at the fat Tiaa oan, they are always walking with an icecream or deepfried chicken in their hands. What do smokers have to do with that?

There is already a tax on sugary drinks.. so its only natural that smokers (also unhealthy) will have to pay their share too.

Ok price goes up 3-5 baht so that means the bars will charge 30 baht more for a beer and blame it on the sport tax. don't really blame them since most of them are losing money and now they have an excuse to raise prices.

The percentage does not really work out.. 2% .. last time I checked a leo for instance was not more as 50bt (sorry almost never buy beer) that would be a 1 bt raise.. seems the companies also see it as a reason to increase their prices.

"A Thailand Tobacco Monopoly source said the contribution to the fund would cause the state enterprise's production costs to rise by between Bt1-2 billion annually."

A more accurate statement would have been: "Let's talk BIG money so no one notices we tuck in a nice profit increase along with the additional tax collected."

It must be nice to have a monopoly.blink.png

"She said TTM's Bt6 billion net profit was down from Bt7 billion in 2013 due to higher expenses from having to relocate its factory from Bangkok to Rojana Industrial Estate."

A more accurate statement would have been: "Let's tell a BIG lie, since everyone else does. A relocation was set up so we could claim a loss that will, later, generate a much bigger profit, that way, as usual, prices go up but never come down."

It must be nice to have a monopoly. bah.gif

Drinking as a Sport...now that is a charming thought...

We could divide up into groupings by home country...let the festivities begin...and see who can walk a straight line for 20 paces after consuming liquor...testing every 30 mins...

The winning team gets sent to Alcoholic Anonymous for rehabilitation...

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of TVF barstool warrior voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
