SURAT THANI - A 22-year-old Burmese man was found dead on the southern island of Koh Samui this morning, less than a week after his cousin was murdered on the same island.

Thet Soe Tar’s body was found on the side of the road near Wat Sawang Arom Temple in Bo Put at around 8 am today. According to police reports, Thet suffered wounds on his throat, chest, and left torso. He is believed to have been killed five hours prior to the discovery of his body.

The local resident who found Thet's body said he drove past a man lying by the side of the road on his way to the market early this morning. He said he became suspicious when he saw the man in the same location on his way back, and decided to alert the police.

Thet was a waiter at a bar on Chaweng beach, his friends told police. He was last seen at around 2 am, when the bar closed down and he drove away on his motorcycle, police say.

According to police, Thet is a cousin of the 22-year-old Burmese woman named Sor Ngae Ngae who was murdered on Samui island four days ago, though they have not determined whether the two cases are connected. Three Burmese workers were arrested in connection with the killing of Sor.

With this mentality prevalent on Koh Tao and Koh Samui, how can a Burmese get a fair trial?

The victim was a cousin of the girl who recently got killed here on Samui, so obviously this is some kind of revenge.

"We believe the perpetrators are from Burma, judging from their violent behavior. They like to use violence"

Thai people on the other hand like to just use a gun to the head, always in self defence of course, or a hoe to the head, no wait, that was the violent Burmese again, my bad. While all farang deaths are immediately presumed to be suicides.

Looks like the Burmese are developing into a mafia fraction in their own right, so this may explain the Thai police are slipping into their usual estupido again.

That neanderthal statement on the behalf of the Police, would get you thrown out on your ass so fast in the real world, you wouldn't know what hit you.

I hope Myanmar officially raises a formal objection to it.

Outrageous statement!!

" They like to use violence" What?? most people who kill people use violence you tools!!

They have yet to determine if the 2 cases are connected!! Here is your answer .YES!!

What are the chances of a random victim being related to someone murdered less than a week ago on the same island?? Very slim i reckon.

This also makes me think they have the wrong people under arrest for the first murder or the right people but there is still more of the same gang on the loose. I think the guy new something and was silenced before he could tell anyone.

KOH SAMUI: -- A 22 year old Burmese man has been found dead at Wat Sawang Arom Temple in Bophut less than a week after his cousin was murdered.

According to police reports Thet Soe, 22 suffered wounds to his throat, chest and torso.

The local resident who made the grim discovery said that he rode past the man on the way to the market early this morning, he became concerned when he was still lying in the same position when he returned from the market, so alerted the police. It is believed the man had been dead for around five hours when rescue teams arrived at the scene.

Thet’s friends told police that he worked as a waiter in Chaweng, where he was last seen alive at around 2am when the bar closed, he left on his motorbike. Thet is a cousin of the 22 year old Burmese woman Sor Ngae Ngae who was murdered on the island four days ago. It is yet to be determined if there is any connection between the two cases.

Local police in Koh Samui have been reported as suggesting that they believe there were at least two perpetrators to the crime and believe due to the violent nature of the crime it was likely committed by members of the Burmese community. CCTV footage from the bar where Thet worked is now being analyzed for clues as to who may have killed him.

A sudden mad exit from Samui by all the Burmese workers can be expected

Not for an intelligent courageous Thai sleuth

Who cares if the trial is fare if they are guilty then a fare trial could set them free

and there you have it in black and white, what Thais think of Burmese. Any others staying there should run for the hills, now.

Police colonel... don't make me laugh. Lazy-minded, incompetent xenophobe try to pass yourself off as a professional in most other countries and you'll get a very rude awakening. Best stay in Thailand where you can get away with your charade. The rest of the world are not fooled by you and your kind, no matter what rank you purchased for yourself.

What have you got to say about hundreds of stories of packs of Thai thugs kicking a lone victim into a bloody pulp?

You deserve to have all the Burmese quit your country.

So have they let out the 3 Burmese that they have accused of the girls murder.

Since it obviously wasn't them.

Or do they have to stay imprisoned for a year too.

if it wasn't for the Burmese Thailand would be totally crime free. Why do let these people in as they obviously don't like them in the slightest.

Could they be witness to the shooting at the bar a few days ago, or maybe they are the perpetrators they must be as the come from myamer.

Sarcasm alert.

No. It's because it's not the Thai's, as it's everybody's favourite scapgoat. It starts with B and ends with e.

As usual, you have completely missed the point.

Thainess is a plague of nationalistic, isolationist, xenophobic, neanderthal thinking.

I know plenty of Thai who don't need "Thainess".

In fact, they cringe at this backward term.

And I'm sure there are plenty more.

They are simply, people.

Don't ever accuse me of racism or bigotry.

Because you will be dead wrong.

Why have they ruled out suicide so quickly ?.....Ah ! of course,no balcony involved.

Yes no balcony closeby so it had to be Burmese responsible for this brutal attack as NO THAI would do such a thing.....
