Police at the nightclub in Pattaya where a brawl between tourists and security staff broke out, 4 March 2014.

CHONBURI — Police say a group of security guards at a nightclub in Pattaya have been arrested for assaulting three European tourists.

The incident took place at around 3.30 am today at a club called "Show Girls" on Soi Bua Kao in central Pattaya.

Police did not identify the nationalities of the tourists but said they were from a European country.

According to police, the three tourists got in a heated argument with other customers in the nightclub, and then resisted when security staff tried to escort them off the premises.

Ronald James Kingsnorth, the 71-year-old manager of the nightclub, approached the group and tried to calm the situation, but one of the tourists punched him in the face, police say. The guards then reportedly mobbed and beat the three tourists, causing other customers inside the club to flee.

Pol.Lt.Col. Kowit Sawasdimongkol, an officer at Mueang Pattaya Police Station, said the club's manager, all of the guards, and the three tourists are being held at the police station.

The manager is the only bloke with his name in the article.

Classic. No perpetrators or victims were incriminated in the making of this article.

for once it paid (me) to read the article linked. seems the bib wanted them to close shop at 12am as per the rules for today's holiday and the manager was having none of it or? not sure how the tourists got beat up - stuck in the middle again... lol

"...causing other customers inside the club to flee."

They probably did a runner knowing the police may be on their way, and they should not be there as the bar should not have been open due to a Buddhist Holiday...

Since most of the clubs on LK were in the shut down mode at the 12:00 o'clock hour, sounds like Showgirls was just asking for trouble?? Sorry to hear some of the boys took it to another level....let me guess, alcohol was involved.....damn pissheads....never learn......same sh*t, different day.....?

What is LK, please?

A Google search indicates that Ronnie Kray died of a heart attack, so probably not him :)

The name was only injected to get attention, pay it no mind. Too bad he didn't know Kray was worm food...

They did not have to close Basil, they could not sell alcohol.

But then again, who knows. If you are a real mobster, you might want the outside world to think you re dead.

...Come think of it, if you are a real mobster, you would not have to work at age 71, if you even reach that age

"The incident has negatively affected the image to Pattaya."

Really.

Seriously...

There is a lot more going on that is damaging the image ofPattaya a lot more than a fight in a club...
