Most wanted drug trafficker Benz Thasai arrested

BANGKOK: -- Benz Tasai, a notorious drug trafficker who earlier challenged the police to hunt him down or else he would instead hunt them, was arrested today near the Thai Myanmar border in Kanchanaburi province.

Benz Tasai or Adisak Srisa-ard, 26, was a most-wanted drug trafficker operating in the western border close to Myanmar.

He was on the police most wanted drug trafficker after he posted on Facebook last year waving M16 assault rifles challenging the police to catch him.

He also threatened to kill a number of policemen.

It was not immediately known if he was arrested and extradited by Myanmar authorities or arrested by Thai police after he fled across the border to Myanmar following a dragnet was launched to hunt him following his challenge.

Thai police earlier have been cooperating with Myanmar authorities to hunt him after gaining information he has fled across the border.

But the police in Kanchanaburi said he is being heavily escorted to Bangkok for a press conference at the Royal Thai Police at noon today.

Earlier Royal Thai Police commissioner Pol Gen Somyot Poompanmuang ordered a manhunt for Benz Thasai after he posted a message in the social media threatening to kill policemen.

Stupid man, now he is not only going to pay for his actions and drug trafficking but also pay the tax for being an undeclared Benz.

Arrested by Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dee. He will be happy to serve life than show his face around his 'boy's again.

Can't wait to read the news when they announce that he has been released on bail. Don't laugh, the Thai "justice" system does some pretty unbelievably stupid things with great regularity. Then they will act surprised when he disappears when out on bail (except, of course, the people who mysteriously came into a financial windfall ! whistling.gif

Apart from being an absolute dick and a criminal and being wanted by the Thais, escaping across a border that is not open to foreigners (and his illegal border crossing) probably didn't make him very popular by the Myanmar authorities when they caught him.

If he was a bit smarter he would have gotten a passport and fled legally across a land border that would have allowed him entry.

Merely the most wanted leader of the minnows more like. Looking at this bedraggled twit are we seriously supposed to believe this is the 'Mr Big' in drug trafficking ?

Breaking news Escaped prisoner fled from police escort, Police blame ghost but it was noted that all officers made large deposits in there RTP personal retirement accounts all are placed on in inactive post till they share there windfall and get promoted. Further update also a soi dog was believe to be apart of escape. But no worries several Burmese were rounded up to take the rap after usual confession.cheesy.gif

You don't think he might have a problem stamping out of Thailand while on a Most Wanted list? Or getting an entry stamp without a valid exit stamp from Thailand?

BTW Yingluk is no longer in office - passports are not now issued to fugitive criminals.

Certainly not a Mister Big just a mouthy young yob.

But serving a useful purpose of taking all the heat off the real Mister Bigs, and making it look like the RTP are actually doing something.

Roll on the next small fry to be caught and made to look a whole lot more important than they are.

Must be Mr Big, he has lotta tattoos and travel in a van... Scary !! cheesy.gif

Also, really missing an officer pointing at the tattoos in the picture...

Agree but when trying to "fly under the radar" perhaps best not to adopt the name BENZ

Might be difficult, but escaping into Myanmar illegally, was a dumb move. The penalty for crossing into Myanmar or any country illegally can be many years in jail and only last year at least one case of Thais who entered Myanmar illegally emerged, who then found themselves behind bars.

Yingluck and her brother never entered any other countries illegally. Thaksin also happens to have a Montenegrin passport.

Now they all get caught.

Only the street level mules. It will be valid when the haul in some significant top of the pyramid types.

Not that clever was he, like most people here, all talk and mouth just to give them some kind of status, as the young college school kids love that shit

Oh well he will think he has been shot in the arse by a M16 after a couple of months behind bars

Why pixelate the photo, when they name him? ...(and there was the earlier photo, full-face). facepalm.gif

Nice of the police to lift his shirt and show his tats, blur his face, and let him smoke ciggies.

Well I had a careful look at the picture and even after zooming in
very closely on to the arrested guys face, it was still very blurry.

I recon police arrested only a ghost who will be gone in no time.

another competition eliminated by the police.

now the yaba business is even more profitable for the police.

He's not in Myanmar, he has not been charged with illegally entering Myanmar, and what Thaksin does with his passport is irrelevant - nobody is going to issue this criminal with a passport, or stamp one if he already has one.

The policemen will be happy because now they both have a Benz. thumbsup.gif
