Hi guys!

I'm a 29 yo Canadian and plan to get Marry with a Thai citizen!

10 years ago in Canada, I was with a girl(Canadian) and we had a boy!

I never been Married with this girl and never been Married with someone!

My Son use my Family name and I'm registered in Canada as is father!

Is there somebody who knows if it can cause some troubles to get Married with a Thai citizen?

Is there some specific documents that I have to show about my Son for the Marriage process in Thailand?

Thanks for your Help!

Hi Froggy, I would check with the Canadian embassy on this one, don't know what the specifics are for common-law marriages in Canada. Don't think you qualify for common-law at this point but better to check. If you are not common-law married and if Canada does not require any specific paperwork to end a common-law marriage if you are, then I don't see why your son is anyone's business but your own.

Here is a link to them:Canadian Embassy

Good luck to you!

You won't have problems, but do as sbk suggested, talk to the Canadian Embassy and ascertain their marriage requirements first.
