Hi there,

I have to buy a new laptop as my old one is about to tie. I need it for work, excel, text editing, powerpoint and movies at home so it has to be light with matte screen and ssd would be nice. I came across HP Pavilion 13-208TU which ticks all the boxes and isn't expensive. The only problem is poor screen resolution but I wont use it for graphics or movie editing.

It seems like this notebook is quite new as I can't find any reviews on line. My question is does anybody has it any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah I have no problem with 13-14'. E1 would be too bulky I carry notebook to the office everyday. On a bike. So I'm looking for something compact. The problem is there is not much choice around, especially with a matte screen.

from personal experience i would NEVER buy an hp laptop notebook or whatever

i thought they used to make the best printers however

Could you please let us know why?

I've been using HP various models for the last 15 years or more and have no complains.

Presently using a ProBook 4530s and an EliteBook 840 - no complains at all,

I have an inexpensive 15" HP Pavilion "Sleekbook" laptop purchased at Wallmart in the US 2 years ago. Windows-8 (non-touch), 6gb RAM, 750gb HD This model did not come with a DVD drive which I do not miss.

It's a decent machine for the money. My only complaint is the very narrow viewing angle of the display...it has to be tilted "just so", even a slight variation makes a huge difference. Two people would have a difficult time watching a movie together on this device.

My usage is very light; mostly surfing the net and email. I do not play video games or edit images. I overlaid Win-8 with Classic Shell, emulating Win-7 and it functions without a flaw.

Build quality seems nice and solid, battery life is about 3 hours and the keyboard is good to type on.

That's about it.

Would we all have the same taste regarding women, there'd be a huge problem.

There're some good notebooks, produced by HP. In my opinion much better than any Acers. thumbsup.gif

I've had a couple, one was a disaster, the other one chugged along but I grew out of it.

Now I buy Lenovo. Good kit and good prices when they aren't installing adware on them.

I hope you buy professional models so if service is needed, you don't have to deal with the abysmal service vendor Lenovo foists upon it's consumer model customers.

I'd humbly suggest your personal experience is worth as much to this thread as mine, which is quite the opposite. Let the buyer choose and keep personalities out of it.

I'm in the sandpit, so the experience might be different.

Having said that, I have 15 and I haven't had to fix a single one. They're about a year old now.
