'No rejection' sign to be put on taxis

Featured Replies

They have a unique racket in Ubon. They see a farang or Thai in the rain and turn off their sign, change lanes, and do a u-turn. They park at taxi stands and refuse fares, waiting for the call...because they get 20 baht more if you call, and another bonus -- if the drive is 10 km they charge you 10 baht per kilometer, so they ask first -- if it's 7 km they suddenly have to leave.

Nobody in the anti-corruption government notices because...they get no money out of it.

They can put it next to the sign that says "Farang, we speak English", as that is usually bo11ocks too.

  • Oh to have taxis to reject us in the first place.... In Chiang Mai it appears that the tuk tuks and dirty old red buses have it all sown up. There are NO taxis to flag down in Chiang Mai. You can onl

Of all the priorities out there I just don't get why this keeps appearing. If one cab won't take you the next one will. In London taxis will reject you all the time !

What if a cabbie is on the way home after a 12 hour day and someone flags him down and wants to go 30 mile in the opposite direction ? Its his choice - enforcing him to possibly never get home is plain nuts !

At the end of your 12 hour shift when you have had enough, you switch off your red light and you go home.....simples

Get a sign made up in Thai and hold it out instead of waving your hand.

Sign says "Meter yes? Go where I want to go yes? No movies yes? OK - I will accept you."

Gotta feel sorry for the cabbies a bit. Why should they have to take us where we want to go?

Some areas have roadworks.

Some areas have floods.

Some areas aren't safe due to violent protests, the terrorists down south, poverty stricken slums etc etc

Some areas are too far away, even outside the city or in another province.

Some area have parades and such.

Some areas are just ridiculously congested (and then the passenger jumps out to walk leaving the driver stuck in a jam without any fare).

There has to be some fairness and common sense here.

comes with the job. Or shall we have construction workers complaining and not working because it's too hot?
