Your Thai fiance doesn't need a visa to enter Laos.

You have to obtain a 30 day visa entering Laos after paying 1500Baht or $41.....not very sure about the dollars.

When you reenter Thailand you will be issued for another 30 or 15 days visa depends what country your passport is from.

Hope this answers your questions and I wish you a safe trip.

Hopefully, your wife has a Thai passport, otherwise flying to Vientiane, or Luang Prabang, will be out.

If she has the passport, no visa for her required, she's in free.

Flying Bangkok to Udorn, and taking a van on to Nong Khai, then crossing over the bridge, is a lot cheaper, if cost is a concern.

For you, Lao Visa On Arrival at an airport, or via the bridge, is not a problem.

"How does this affect my 30 day visa to Thailand?is my 60 days on arrival still valid or just continues for the original visa or am i issued a new visa on arrival back in to Thailand?"

Don't quite understand this. Are arriving to Thailand and getting the 30-day airport chop, the Visa Exempt chop?

Or do you have a Thai visa and will be getting 60 days on arrival?

Regarding your stay in Thailand it depends on what nationality you are and the type of tourist visa you have.

If you are British you can get 30 days on arrival in Thailand without a visa. You will get a further 30 days if you fly back from Laos or 15 days if the journey is overland.

You can get a multiple entry visa from Thai Embassy in London if you are staying longer e.g. a double entry visa for about £50 I think.

As stated above Thais do not need a visa for Laos. I think they can even get in on their Thai IDs at the Nong Khai/Friendship Bridge crossing but please check this.
