Prayuth, the Minister of Culture, the CEO of TAT and a gaggle of others are a great sense of amusement and laughter for the international community. The minister of Culture actually had news anchors in Australia rolling on the floor wetting his pants with the underboob sketch. If they were allowed to visit other countries they could take this comedy show on a world tour.

Not having a clue what you were waffling about with the Aussie news anchors, I googled 'underboob sketch' and then clicked images.

Thanks for giving me a pleasant distraction from this rather peurile discussion on the PM's future in stand-up.

PS. If you can supply a more direct link to the pant wetting on the telly, please post here.

i don´t like him at all but just a great idea from this general. and i would not only ban the citizens of the terror state usa wich is the biggest threat and danger for the free world from traveling outside. i would put all diplomats, members of the actual and previous goverment behind bar for war criminals, coup plotters, founders of the north atlantic terror organisation (nato) founders of islamistic terror organisations (is, al quaida), spys, mass murders and so on behind bars wherever i could get them.

Very good chance he would NOT be allowed in the U.S. By definition, a military coup is supposed to be a stop-gap TEMPORARY situation, not a permanent solution. The U.S. has been quite clear on their disapproval of his dragging this coup on with no ACTUAL end in sight. He is not considered a leader, evidenced my Australia's ban on giving him a visa and the U.S. sending NO ONE of any importance to lend credibility to his ill gotten, self-appointed status.

I see that your club has a pretty exclusive and very demanding membership criteria. Please PM me with the details.

He is allowed into the US using his diplomatic credentials ONLY which limits him to the UN visit. He won't be wandering about Times Square or Central Park and certainly not anywhere near the White House, Capitol or the Pentagon.

All a bit of a sideshow. I am pretty sure that other 'dislikables' play up their UN visits to the home crowd as some sort of legitimization of their own political mantra. However, in this instance, the Thai 'free' press got their panties in a twist about what the current PM actually DID NOT say.

Took him 5 days to realize no one got his joke.

He could try the Royal Oak stand up comedy night for a bit of practice.

the "whine" after you said something that was not true. this is a mark of a bully that is used to getting their way.

"...some diplomatic procedures must be attended to prior to his visit."

Yeah, like getting a visa.

I'm sure he has diplomatic immunity (or override), but Obama has a "phone and a pen" and can do whatever we wants by executive order, including re-routing the Prime Minister's plane I suppose.

Aside: Coincidentally, I've recently taken to referring to Thais as "jokers".

I have nothing against Gen Prayuth but deary me this govt is in desperate need of a skilled public relations team.

Some of the comments and stories that are allowed to come out in the media are laughable - this story being no exception.

It seems that Prayuth has had little or no media training whatsoever.

But then again why would he, he's a military general and not a career politician.

"this govt is in desperate need of a skilled public relations team"

...Not! The last thing the world, most certainly including Thailand (!), needs is more snake oil salesmen and professional spinmeisters. I much prefer the occasional verbal gaffe or bad joke.

He is banned to travel to the U.S. still. But because the UN is in New York he will be allowed to travel to NY and no where else. He will also be banned to any formal US- Thailand meetings. It's the same as the other dictatorship, re: Iran, Libya, Venezuela ect...

I'm trying to think of how you could be more wrong in that many words, and I can't. Start to finish, it's a classic. He isn't banned, he can travel where he wants. There won't BE any US meetings for him to attend and it's not the same as the three countries you mention - individually or collectively. All wrong.

There are no US sanctions against the members of the junta, their friends or family. There are no US sanctions against Thailand. Official relations are cool without doubt. Some military deals have been, er, "delayed". But no sanctions exist against the country or its directors, whether in or out of jackboots.

I got a kick out of the "he can't figure out why no one got the joke" post. It *is* ironic that the only person marching in step is General Failure and everyone else is out of step. Great metaphor, that.

I'm not wrong at all. And I believe Australia has imposed the same ban too. And Prayut knows it. But he is allowed to go to NY for the UN assembly as any other leader of a country, but he will not be able to travel anywhere else in the US.

Ah, so you have a copy of the US sanctions order, or some official statement about it. Well, let's see it. Put up or, sir. Let me repeat, so that you can post the official order and make me look really, really foolish and wildly uninformed simply by proving the following to be wrong:

There are no US sanctions against Thailand or Prayut. Gen Prayut is entirely free, as of today, to go to the US and travel wherever he might like to travel.

stupid people think venezuela is a dictatorship. is a enemy from the terror state usa because venezuela has a socialistic goverment and is a proud part of the free world countrys. i was living there from 1994 till 2008 and know exactly how the usa trying since years to plott a coup against this goverment denying being a slave from the usa. before venezuela i was living in the caribbeans islands of barabados, st. vincent, trindad&tobago and grenada till the usa bombed out the legal elected also socialistic goverment from grenada and ordered to kill maurice bishop wich was the elected president of grenada in this time. .
