Isan Farang
56 baht per bottle Thanks for the info, I purchase by the box (24) from Makro for 1.145 Baht per box. At times its a hit or miss as its a fast mover. I will check my local SE store as its handy for a back up.

infinity11
SE store? How many in a box/carton 24? 1000 baht divided by 24 is about 42 baht too dangerous to have more than one or two lying around the house however Edited March 19, 2015 by infinity11

balo
I agree this is a good beer as an alternative to the expensive imported draft beer that I love so much . I am drinking my favourite right now, Well's waggle dance. It's 148 baht per bottle so I don't drink much for that price. So will visit Makro soon and look for the 24 pack. Popular Post Laughing Gravy
It is good news as I was told that the big monopolies on the beer here were blocking it going to 7/11 and other stores. It is a shame really as I would love to see it on draft. With the ASEAN trade agreement I thought it would be easy. It would certainly knock the crap they serve at present here in Thailand from the local beers. No wonder the breweries are ensuring it doesn't get here.

stoli
About a year and a half ago the gentleman the owns 7-11 bought Makro, so it is no surprise to see Lao moving from Makro to the 7-11 stores. All alcohol is charged by the Thai government a tax that is based on the alcohol content. This was one reason for Chang to reduce their 6% beer to 5% a year ago. With Lao at 6.5%, it is going to cost more simply because of the extra tax imposed on it. Wines are taxed that same way, based on alcohol content. dragonfly94
chang went from 6.4 to 6. How come lao khow at 40% is so cheap, maybe to keep the workers docile? Edited March 20, 2015 by dragonfly94

dick turpin
Used to buy it at Tops for 65 baht a bottle until the lady at Tops told me about the Makro price, the downer being you can only buy it by the case at 1,000 baht plus a go. And as I tell the missus, once a case has been opened it has to be consumed within two days.
