Translation companies in Pattaya? Any recommendations?

Featured Replies

I'm filing an I-130 in bkk for my Thai wife to immigrate to the USA.

I've read conflicting reports of her Birth Certificate and Marriage certificate and name change certificate needing to be translated into English from Thai.

Some have stated that it isn't required, and some have stated that it is required. I read the USCIS website which states, if the document is not in English or Thai, they must be translated. Technically that reads as the Thai docs should not need to be translated. But, as stated, others have said that they were required to go to the 2nd floor and use the service there for 500 baht/document. This also adds more time to being at the Consulate.

I would rather find someone reasonably priced to do it ahead of time and be prepared. Does anyone know of any outfits here in Pattaya?

Thanks.

I used this company in Bangkok for something similar last week http://www.expresstranslationservice.com

I sent them scans of what I wanted translated, they gave a price of 350 per page plus 100 per extra certified copy (well worth doing). I sent them the money via bank transfer and we picked up the documents a couple of days later. Good service.

I appreciate the info. Were they located close to the Embassy though? Driving around in Bkk these days is a nightmare.

Yes, I think they are. I chose that company because they were close to the British Embassy which I believe is in the same vicinity as the US Embassy. They did also say that they could deliver direct to our hotel if we wanted.
