Any famous people you've either met or seen in the street?

Me, nobody apart from Carl Chinn (historian and ambassador to brum) had to refrain from laughing when he walked into my work place and introduced himself to me. He looks about 7 ft on t.v, that was not the case but what a nice man he was. Also before you post I'm fully aware he isn't famous but well known in his areas of work.

When my mom was working part time as a waitress she served him at the Birmingham Hilton at some function. According to her colleague he was so rude to her he left her in tears.

Quite a few, but it's rather vulgar to namedrop.

Though I will do it for you shameless as I am...Rangsri,Gordi and YS...kidding

missus, when working at the Ambassador on Sukumvit:

1. serviced a young Mimi Driver and Tom Cruise. She was apparently very friendly and chatty, but ol' fart Tom dragged Mimi off her - already the jealous control freak that he has become publicly famous for...

2. a very young Tom Hanks, who was I'm told the most polite man she had ever met...

that was all back in theperiod late 80's to '92

I saw Ian Brown in Liverpool airport, he was on the same flight as us flying out to Barcalona. Paul Weller in a caffe in Jersey and a couple of years ago bumped into John Barnes in Abu Dhabi airport. Oh almost forgot Prince Naseem Hamed shopping in Sheffield, but I'd rather forget about that <deleted>.

Due of my job I would say many...but as SB cited naming as shaming....and I don't like to go the " my one is bigger..." way...

Number of years ago I was seated next to Larry Hagman of "Dallas" fame, on a flight from Inverness to London. Seemed down to earth and had a good yarn with him about his movie roles. He was holidaying in the a Highlands of Scotland prior to going to the Balkans to distribute medicines for the poor.

Back in the 60s I lived with a stage actress and lived next door to a famous singer in a group, we had fantastic party's,and I went to so many ,it would be over the top to list the people I met,but honestly I knew so many ,some are still around and still well known ,if a little old like me now by the way ,I lived in London,I also had a friend who was a doorman at a famous strip club,oh happy days

While I have been around and met a few it all boils down to "media celebrities" just another marketable commodity....then - on to the next

Markable whatever as long as it/they sell..nothing personal = it's all about the $$$$$ - now - move along.....there's money to be made....countries/continents/hemispheres make no difference.....and F U if you (or worse) if you get in the way

.....it's business.....

HM Queen Elizabeth II, Phil the Greek, Prince Charles and a young Lady Diana <deleted>... and Jingthing

Too many to mention.

My most embarrassing was sitting next to Sean Penn on a flight from Sand Fran to LA.

We chatted a bit and said I really enjoyed his movies. He asked me my favorite and I went blank, and all I could think off was "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".

End of conversation.

Met Jimmy Page up there once as my brother in law was his lawyer when he was selling Alistair Crowely's house.

Also met a guy who had met the Loch Ness Monster.

I met Willie Miller

who lived nextdoor to my best friend.

His kids were making a noise in the back garden so we(in a drunken state) threw water over them. He rang the doorbell and complained - rather embarrassing.

(Sir)Alex Ferguson also lived across the road and I saw him many times.
