Get all of your stuff back now and change the password on your ATM now. You have to leave the country for a non o visa and when you have it you can do allof the paper workyourself. Goimmediately and get all of your paper work back now.

You need to get on the agent to get your passport back to you.

I hope you have better luck than another member did. It took him months to get his passport back from a lawyer to just do his extension. When he finally got it back he had to fly out and pay the 20k baht overstay fine.

Go to the police and report her. There are people that can help you. Don't worry, its not your fault. Must report her to police. Speak to your embassy too about your passport they may be able to help you. Don't suffer in silence. :-)

it sounds like you have attempted to do a conversion from tourist visa to extension of stay using a lawyer which you did not need to do. Provided you are over 50 and have the funds then you could have done this easily yourself

The first place you should have gone to was immigration in Bangkok and told them what you needed.

Your passport is either at the lawyers office or at immigration - either way you need to find out and expedite the process or get you docs back, when returned your passport will have a single 90 day visa and/or an approved extension of stay for 12 months so there should be no need to leave the country as you planned

right so you were basically paying an agent to supply the funds for you and bypass the rules for a fee, not sure how this will work now that all conversions are handled in Bangkok - it was possible before the process changed last year were local immigration handled it.

You need to be very careful with this, you may be paying out a lot of money to have bogus stamps placed in your passport, not saying that this is what is going on but just be careful

Oh dear !

Seems as though an attempt was being made to secure a visa +/- an extension of stay using creative/irregular means.

The OP should demand the return of the passport/bankbook /ATM card.

If the passport etc. is not rapidly produced he will have little choice but to report the loss of his documentation to the Police (inform the "lawyer" that this will happen unless the documents are returned)

With a Police report help can be sought from the OPs Embassy for replacement travel documentation.

Sorting out the bank problem may be difficult but speaking to the Banks branch manager would be advisable.

A unhelpful post has been removed. OP came on this forum asking for suggestions not to be berated for using an agent or being accused of dong something illegal.

Most immigration offices are no longer allowed to handle applications for change of visa.

Which is maybe why there is a "delay" in returning the OPs documentation ?

You have to contact your bank and ask to block your account for now. This laywer has all your information, including your pasport.

Depending on what bank you are using, it will not be that hard to create internet banking access for your account.

Keep in mind that the laywer already tried to get your pin code.
