"4 NOs" Safe Songkran zones to be identified in Bangkok

BANGKOK, 8 April 2015 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has zoned off “Safer Songkran” areas in fifty districts in Bangkok where sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, obscene activities and powder will be strictly prohibited under the slogan "4 NOs", Deputy Governor of Bangkok Pusadee Tamthai announced.

She said that Songkran celebrations should be alcohol-free in order to maintain the essence of the Thai New Year's Day tradition and ensure safety and enjoyment for all tourists. Besides, the 4-NOs campaign also complements the "Safe Metropolis" policy of Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra.

The 4-NOs safe zones will be implemented with the cooperation from both government and non-governmental organizations such as the Metropolitan Police Bureau, the Office of the Alcohol Control Committee and the Anti-Alcohol Network in Bangkok.

Are these people real and are we paying them for this endless crap. Like almost everything else in this excuse for a country nothing, absolutely nothing will be done, however we will be regaled by statistics that claim that as a direct result of the intervention from the BMA that Songkran was safer.

Great .... They will outline the boring, lame areas to avoid. I feel sorry for business owners in these areas, as they are the ones who will feel it financially.

"in order to maintain the essence of the Thai New Year's Day tradition and ensure safety and enjoyment for all tourists."

but we somehow forgot the other "NOs" such as

no drunk driving

no drugged driving

no 20 hours without sleep driving

no grossly overloaded driving

no unsafe vehicle driving

no street racing

no overtaking on blind bends on the wrong side of the road

etc etc etc

I can only count 3 No's.. whats the 4th one? No water?
