Help to install Multirom on Nexus

Featured Replies

I bought a Nexus 4 to install Multirom on it, which allows you to use choose some different os's, like Cyanogen and Ubuntu, when you turn on your phone. I'm stuck and can't get it working. Does anybody know a shop or a person that might be able to help? I'm going to try Aobmobile at MBK tomorrow, but I'm not sure they'll be able to help.

What instructions are you using to flash the ROM, and how far long have you gotten?

xdaDevelopers: Multi ROM for Nexus 4 | Multi Boot |

MultiROM has 2 parts you need to install:

MultiROM (multirom_vXX_n4-signed.zip) - download the ZIP file from second post and flash it in recovery.
Modified recovery (TWRP_multirom_n4_YYYYMMDD.img) - download the IMG file from second post and use fastboot or Flashify app to flash it.
You current rom will not be erased by the installation.
Download links are in the second post.
1.Flash the modified recovery
2.Flash the MultiROM zip
3.Enjoy!

Hi Rich, Thanks for the reply. I've unlocked and rooted the phone but I need to install kexec-hardboot. Well, as I was typing this, multirom manager updated and I seem to be past the kexec-hardboot problem. Now it's downloading Ubuntu, which multirom manager offered on its own. I'm not sure what will happen next.

The good news is I can use Ubuntu touch now! The bad news is it's not ready for primetime yet. It has restarted on its own a few times,

I really liked it when I still had my N4, but as you said, it's not 100% usable as a daily driver. Mine never restarted on it's own, but froze several times that the only solution was to force the phone to shut down.
