webfact Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Ex-Pheu Thai MP says it is too soon to blame red shirts for Samui car bomb attackBANGKOK: -- Former Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakan Worachai Hema said it was too premature for government officials to conclude that an arrested red-shirt member was linked to the car bomb explosion at Central Festival shopping mall in Samui on April 10.The suspect, Mr Narin Umnongbua, was arrested by the police and military personnel in Nonthaburi because of a message he posted in his Facebook page indicating that he knew something about the attack in advance.Worachai said that investigators must come up with solid evidences to link Narin to the car bomb incident and not just the message in the social media. He added that it was not possible for the attack to be committed by just one person. The ex-MP said Narin might have posted the message to seek publicity of himself.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/ex-pheu-thai-mp-says-it-is-too-soon-to-blame-red-shirts-for-samui-car-bomb-attack -- Thai PBS 2015-04-13
BSJ Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 "He added that it was not possible for the attack to be committed by just one person." So, how many people are involved in driving a bomb laden pick-up into a car park? One driver and........ The driver could have made the bomb and set it off as well. But I very much doubt it! 1
Popular Post NongKhaiKid Posted April 12, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2015 Note - too premature to blame red shirts NOT don't blame red shirts, nothing to do with us which leaves the door open to the possibility. Might have been better for him to keep his mouth shut rather than feel obliged to grab a headline which doesn't help. LoS previously claimed to have discovered a cure for AIDS and Ebola, would be better concentrating on a cure for the endemic problem of Foot In Mouth Disease. 5
chooka Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 They arrested a guy who apparently uses the handle Mr Redshirt on facebook so it is overwhelming evidence it is the work of red shirts. Anyone can use a bullcrap name on facebook but that doesn't convict. Did a search on facebook and the guy doesn't exist. 1
Popular Post rubl Posted April 12, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2015 I guess next we'll be told not to believe anything Ms. Yingluck writes on her own facebook page as she might just be seeking publicity 7

Manbing Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 In unrelated news, Malboro confirmed smoking is actually good for you, Johnny walker advocates lowering the minimum drinking age and second hand car salesmen are declare they are most honest profession in Thailand 2
oneday Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 "...it is too soon to blame red shirts for Samui car bomb attack..."No it isn't...not for this government.

Anyone can use a bullcrap name on facebook but that doesn't convict. Did a search on facebook and the guy doesn't exist. Chooka, Where is the "overwhelming evidence"? so far they have come up with a <deleted> that publicly claims prior knowledge of the attack, Who in their right mind would do that if it was true??? although this bloke must be two sandwiches short of a picnic, but being a complete fool is not evidence. having lived on Samui for some time there is plenty of violence to go round even without political issues. I do hope they get the people that did it and throw then in the slot for life... 1
Eric Loh Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Blinkered conclusion with Sansern already pointing fingers without evidence or proof. Just don't made sense for the Reds perpetractor to steal a pick up in Yala, evade all the tight checkpoints and hired the south insurgents to hook up the bomb. Wouldn't it be easier to steal a car in Surat and hook up a relatively simple gas cylinder detonator. The north accent is also very distinctive from the south and people can differentiate and provide information to the law. Well unless the south have red cells and that is a game changer. 1
Lupatria Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Former Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakan Worachai Hema said it was too premature for government officials to conclude… Maybe that’s why you are a former MP Mr. Worachai. For the new government there are no premature conclusions according to Minister of Tourism and Sports Ms. Kobkan. 2

Popular Post Robby nz Posted April 13, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2015 He has not been arrested in connection with the Samui bomb but in relation to the Surat Thani fires as he had posted on his site regarding trouble in Surat Thani and not Samui. The ex MP who if I remember correctly was also an ex red shirt leader, has come out and connected the arrested gent with something he has not at present been officially linked to. 3
Robby nz Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I see they have changed the story now to include the Samui bomb, when I read the news this morning his statement : The suspect had posted on Facebook that "a lot of stuff is being prepared for Surat Thani tonight". Was said to be connected with the fires in Surat Thani.
ldiablo Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Aussieinthailand. From chookas comment it is very clear that he is being sarcastic. 1

billd766 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 To quote the late lovely Miss Rhys-Davies - "He would say that wouldn't he". Good old Google and Wikipedia. She was actually 5 months younger than me and sadly died in December 2014. Did you mean this nice young lady? Marilyn "Mandy" Rice-Davies mrd.htm

Yet "M Redshirt" is reported (in another thread) to have been arrested ! And is now being questioned. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/816976-m-redshirt-arrested-in-connection-to-friday-attacks-on-samui-island/ 1
Bluespunk Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) "The ex-MP said Narin might have posted the message to seek publicity of himself." Speaking out on something you know nothing about in order to seek publicity for yourself? Well as a politician you should know all about that, old habits die hard, eh? The headlines refers to Narin Umnongbua or "M Redshirt" Perhaps, try searching for M Redshirt and not MR. 2
Caveat Emptor Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Red hot communication, pun intended, from Dubai along the lines of ' tell him to shut up ' perhaps ? 2

Ricardo Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Let's wait until the torture interrogation gets a confession. and if that doesn't work, take a tip from Monty Python & the Spanish Inquisition, and try the infamous 'cushions' and the 'comfy chair' !
candide Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Read this in THai PBS News: "But Royal Thai Police spokesman Pol Lt Gen Prawut Thavornsiri said M Redshirt Facebook had been closed long time ago but this account was recently created by unknown person......In-depth investigation is underway to find out the poster of the message, he said and added that M Redshirt remains in the custody of the military." http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/central-festival-samui-car-bomb-takes-toll-on-local-police-chief Interesting........
Alwyn Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 So did all the people who went off searching for this bloke on Facebook without success consider that he might be using Thai language to register? I hope whoever planned and executed this bomb attack is quickly caught and locked away.
scorecard Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Did anybody consider that, as usual, the reporting of the matter is way less than accurate, and very possibly the reporter(s) made no attempt whatever to analyze what they heard and ask for clarifications and/or made no attempt to reread their own work to check for logic, etc?
