April 16, 201511 yr Doesn´t matter where you try to leave the country, they will catch you anyway and charge you 20.000 baht and you will get banned for 5 years. The only way to not get banned is to go to immigration and turn your self in, if you just try to leave the country means they catch you will overstay and then you will be banned. This is what they wrote with the new regulation. The new regulations have not come into law yet so he won't be banned for 5 years. Do you have an link to the source for this? IM wrote that this new rules was taken into system long time ago and those who will get caught with overstay will be banned and those who turn them self in only have to pay the fine. The new rules that immigration announced in May of last year have never been approved by a higher authority and probably never will be. There have been many people that have paid the fine on departure from the country without a problem. No body gets banned. Even those caught with an overstay are only taken to IDC pay the fine and are deported,

The proof is the fact that many people have left Thailand on overstays since last year, and no one has reported that they have been banned. Immigration clearly want to ban people, but until it becomes law they can't. Edited April 16, 201511 yr by elviajero
April 16, 201511 yr Popular Post How about you find a source that says the new overstay rules were approved. You cannot find it. You can also go back and check all the topics about overstays since May of last year. You will not find any about a person being banned for it, Some wilth overstays of up to 11 years.
April 16, 201511 yr Removed a troll post and the replies to it. The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Do some searches here on TV and on the internet and you will find that the proposed changes have never been approved, therefore never implemented. Ubonjoe is correct with his statement and is well respected on TV. He knows the visa rules and regulations very well. Posters such as yourself should check your facts before posting anything. If you don't know, don't post. Posting incorrect information ends up confusing people that don't know and looking for information. Edited April 16, 201511 yr by ericthai

April 17, 201511 yr Popular Post Sounds nice but do we have to trust your word here or do you have a link to a source? Ubonjoe is the most credible person on this forum, so yes, you can absolutely trust his word on this. I am myself a living proof that the overstay rules are not in effect. With more than one year overstay, and even spent some time at the IDC in Bangkok, and deported, I had no difficulty whatsoever getting back in straight away. There are also people on this forum that have overstayed more than 10 years, just paid the fine at the border, went to a country close to Thailand, and got back in straight away. No questions asked. Do some search on this matter, before you question the moderators. Edited April 17, 201511 yr by thaibreaker
April 19, 201511 yr ======================================================================================================================== -pbonline- Member since 4 month, but you seem to know more than our =Global Moderators= So you have an app that tells how long time I have been in Thailand depending on my membership here? I think you have some buggfix to do.. Read again - "-pbonline- Member since 4 month, but you seem to know more than our =Global Moderators= " I did not write anything about your length of stay in TH. Or did I? In my opinion, Thaivisa com is the best and also a reliable source of information. When you know a better one, please let us know that link to that source which gave you all the wisdom, so you question the knowledge of the Moderators here.
