My wife saw it in TV and thinks it is nice. I read on internet a few bad reviews but they look a bit fishy.

Anyone has experiences?

I am looking for the bungalows.

Posted (edited)

I went there few years ago ,

the room was soso ( i lived in the hotel)

the beach looks funny and no waves :o

there is a PADI center inside , you can buy a diving /snorekel trip also

it was a boring place for me (that time)..maybe it was from rainy season ,so i was not able to do any acticities much

no waves, maybe you must pay extra for waves :D

I got told that they changed to enviroment friendly and natural. taking the food fresh from the own garden just when you order (don't want to try the a porks leg). At least in TV they told so.

Their webpage is very poor (worse than my own :D ). I read some recent reviews which told that the staff is unfriendly and uninterested.

So my concern is that it might started well in the past, but than the owner lost interest/sold it or whatever.

So if anyone knows some recent new please let me know.

Thanks....

If it was not said there, the beach is infested with sandflies, if you lay down to sunbath they may sting you very badly..and most of it you don't feel until too late.

thinktoomut: thanks that link is very helpfull!

It looks like my wife will love it! She is from the south and she loves a natural over everything....

only the moskitos+sandflys make me worry, but I'll go diving anyway-->under water no fly....

something more about the hotel? Friendly?

H my friend The cabana area is very nice although the bungalows are a little expensive IMHO. The diving is very good. I dived with them last year and found it a lot better than Koh Tao. Some good pinnacles and lots of sealife including turtles. The boat I was on was excellent the only thing being the length to the dive sites. If you dont mind boats its not a problem. I'm sure you will enjoy it, only thing is when I went it was mainly Thai and a couple of germans so little English. There are also a lot of bungalows along the 2 km length of the bay so it may be better to get there and take a drive along. Youll get somewhere for sure. Cheers Dunc :o

I do have only one problem with germans and that is that I DO understand them. You would not belive what you hear if they think noone can understand them and they have their privat language.

I had once siting near a german couple and making a british face (even I am not) than my mobile ring and I spoke german. She got a pretty red face......

Hello all,

I stayed there around six months ago and enjoyed the stay very much. The staff didn't seem at all surly to me, on the contrary they seemed very congenial I thought.

The beach is quite lovely and unencumbered with vendors and the like. Just a vast expanse of white beside thewater. And the water was some of the clearest nearshore water I have seen within Thailand. I did get very disturbed, however, during my walks along the beach, once I spied two enormous turtle heads. The beaks had been removed with near surgical precision and there was nothing left of the neck but it idd appear the instruments used were sharp as scalpels. Twas a very sad sight- the animals has to be very mature, given the size of the skulls.

As I recall, I booked a bungalow but switched to a hotel room for an even Baht swap [fell in their favor]. And both rooms I had contained perhaps the firmest mattresses I have ever experienced. Think linens on top of boxsprings....

The owners are said to be from Bangkok and do noth think well of the local people. In fact, they are not even allowed past the guard shack or on the ocean frontage. I scoffed at this when I was toold it was so, but on my last day there, when I tried to return the motor bike I had rented they would not allow me to drop myself at the front with her on the back. A very unneccesary rude moment it was.

I have never stayed there overnight, but there is some great seafood to be had if you look around a bit. The beach itself is alright but nothing special with few amenaties. Worth a look if you like seafood and dont like the beach being packed with tourists.

There are no flights to Chumphon anymore. The nearest airports are Ranong or Surat, both about 2.5- 3 hours by road to Chumphon city, where you can take songteows [or however you spell it] or tuk tuks to the beach. For all the hassle, you would be better off using the train or bus, not forgetting to buy me a couple of drinks as you pass through the city.

Went there a few years ago with the wife and kid. Stayed a week. Great chill out place, nice rooms, staff friendly and the food ok. Not a lot to do there but if oyu want somewhere to relax good spot.

One drawback, the sandflies.

Spent a fortune on calamine lotion when I got back, but everyone agreed I looked better.

Seems like pink is my colour after all.
