Back from wasting another trip to arrange a non-B visa,
Facing again an ever increasing list of futile requirements,

Tired of begging to the Thai authorities the magnanimity to allow me to manage my company, pay good salaries, offer quality jobs and run a mostly export-oriented activity,
This time i made my mind and decided to take the necessary steps to prepare for the next move: leaving the place
I'm the one to blame; I invested here years ago expecting Thailand to mature into becoming part of an ever more interconnected and open world. I saw the opposite happen year after year. I just bet on the wrong horse.
Anyway, the above is not the point of my post but merely serves to put it in context

I am contemplating the two options: sell the company or move it to another country in the region.
The first option means a big loss. On several aspects, the company harbors a rather personal project that needs a few more years to reach full maturity. That would translate in poor value in case of sale.
The second option implies logistics complications (number of machinery containers to be transferred and loss of the fixed equipments: factory specific fittings) and the restriction to consider only countries with a sufficient availability of tropical raw wood materials (for our production)

But mostly, a move to such another country in the region would make no sense if facing there the same disdain of the local autorithies toward foreign investors.

So before I start my homework, I was thus wondering if any TVF member had considered (even if not done) the same move and investigated
the environment he would face in case of moving to another SEA country?
I'm thinking mostly about:
- securing a decent working/stay permit (instead of ridiculous 3 months visa and 90 days reports/exit)
- being allowed to own what you set-up (foreign-held shares majority)
- more generally, freedom to run your project (hire, operate, import/export goods, transfer funds...)
- facing a bearable level of corruption
- globally, genuine acceptance of foreign presence
As an extreme, I'm even considering moving the whole to Latin America, so insight about that region would be interesting too

Thanks in advance for sharing your information. Any experience or conclusion reached would help
