Specialized BG (gel) gloves - where to buy in Chiang Mai?

Featured Replies

Looking for the 'short finger' rather than the full finger variety. Need size L, but don't mind going to the shop or calling the shop to check size availability myself.

Why not head up to the Impact Arena on 30 Apr and attend the 2015 Bike Expo. Lots of everything to choose from. I'm sure Specialized will be represented at the Expo.

Well, heading down to Nonthaburi from Chiang Mai to buy a pair of ~800 baht gloves seems a bit extreme, given I don't have any general interest in attending the expo.

So, I'm looking for a local shop.

Velocity near Maya sell Specialized so they may well be able to get the gloves or even have them.

Good thought. Thing is, Velo doesn't keep regular hours IME. Calling them to arrange a time doesn't seem to matter either.

I'm hoping somebody else has it. Would be awesome if we finally got a fully-stocked accessories shop up here.

I thought Velocity and Jacky were the only shops with dependable hours!

You may have been to Velocity on a Monday when they're closed. Their hours are Tues-Sat 11am - 7pm; Sun 11 or 12 -5pm.

if you think Velocity is unreliable, then don't ever try TCA or the shops down Canal Rd.

I've seen specialized gloves around but never took note of the model. Sorry. But as said above, Velocity is a Specialized dealer and the biggest one in CM. But you should be able to get them elsewhere if you hunt enough.

I also use short finger Specialized gel gloves and can suggest two options if you can't find them in CM. My LBS has them here in Udon Thani and I would be happy to send a pair or two up your way. I normally wear a size L and I believe they have red and white ones in stock. I bought a red pair about 3 weks ago from them. The other alternative would be to order them directly from: [email protected] which is the distributor in BKK. Khun Techatat was very helpful in getting me a new Mindset for my Specialized Prevail helmet. I did everything with him by email as well.

A third option would be to order the gloves from the bike shop here in Udon Thani. The owner is a friend of mine and I'm sure he would be happy to send the gloves to you as well.

I hope this helps.

eljefe - They're all run like hobby companies. I'm familiar with Velocity's 'oh you must have come on a Monday' line.

I made this thread to minimize running around.

So I'm basically hoping someone will say '_______ Bike has Specialized gel gloves, I saw them/bought a pair' and then I'll focus on that store.

I do appreciate all the input though.

fdimike - I'll send you a PM.

Alternatively, I work in the same building as Sport Bicycle in Bangkok if you're still having trouble sourcing them. Get to see the Specialized Concept store everyday, pretty sure they have them, and can send them up to you if you want.
