April 29, 201510 yr I have a friend who just asked me what I thought was a bit of a daft question, but now I would just like to make sure what I told him is correct! He has a UK passport that only has one page left at the end for his next visa, but has 5 pages blank at the front of his passport. He was going to renew his passport early, but I told him they would just use the earlier empty pages. Now he has gone, I am not so sure I am right - could someone please confirm this for me? Thanks for your help
April 29, 201510 yr As long as you have some empties, all is good. Sequence of pages, stamps, not relevant to passport legality.
April 29, 201510 yr Author jerojero, thanks for the quick reply. I thought that was the case, but could not actually remember it happening to me, it is usually in sequence in my passport. Thanks again.
April 29, 201510 yr That is fine to do, you can use any pages you have left, with the cost of passports I would certainly use the empty ones first before renewing it.
April 29, 201510 yr Depends if these pages are actual VISA pages, not meant for other purposes but clearly marked 'VISA'
April 29, 201510 yr The relevant pages in a British passport are not marked 'Visa' or anything else; they are simply numbered. Embassies etc. tend to simply open a passport at random to insert a visa vignette. Immigration do the same for entry stamps, and will usually place the corresponding exit stamp on that page. If there is a visa vignette for that country in the passport they will place these on the same page as the vignette. Your friend can use the blank pages.
