I think it does not matter to describe my case here but just as much: yesterday 180/140 today 160/130 this happens every 6 weeks or so for two days and as long as 10 years back just stays for some hours- I took it before as a form of migraine but now it's time to take the case on

Depending on your age and lifestyle habits, additional checks can be made, and all are done using modern, universally accepted methods. Comprehensive health checks in Chiang Mai may also include an ultra-sound of the abdomen, electrocardiogram, intense liver functioning, exercise stress tests, liver cancer, and prostate cancer for men and hepatitis B checks.

A cardiac stress test is especially good for those over the age of 50 years who think they may be at risk of a heart attack due to high blood pressure, stress or obesity. Tests measure blood flow through the heart during rest and when undergoing exercise.

Have you asked where you are getting your pressure checked?

180 over 140 is out way to high. The 160 over 130 is no good either.

Any thing over 140 over 90 is considered high.

Thank you for concern all- but it's really a temporary thing which happen as described above. I am in the mountains so will go doc here first if it's happen again today and than plan to go down to cm soon. That's why I did ask for a recommendation on a proven good unit or doc.My neighbor got a good measuring machine so readings are reliable.

I have been going to SAVITRI SHARIN CLINIC on Kotchasarn Rd. 053 3755330. This clinics is ran by him and his wife, he is a graduate of New York City University. He has done a superior job over the years for me as I to have a serious high blood pressure issue. Stop beating around the bush and get your back side into a doctor.

No matter you consider it temporary,Mine was 205/110 on admittance to hospital in CM and I had suffered a mild stroke the consequences of which live with you for the rest of your life.. GO NOW

Have you tried a different machine?

Get it checked by a Dr. the old reliable way

You REALLY shouldn't spend any more time on here otherwise it would be difficult to take you seriously.

Agreed.

Back home every pharmacy and a lot of the supermarkets with a pharmacy had machines to test your self with. I used them every time I was near one. My doctor took my blood pressure the old fashioned way and it was always lower than what the machines said.

You could sit for ten minutes then take your blood pressure three times in a row with out moving and get three different readings. I did that with out moving around or carrying on a conversation. One machine had a chart showing how much your blood pressure will change during the day. Surprising I guess it makes a difference what time it is.

Do not have any back up information on that.

Hi Northernjohn,

At 55 I have been taking medication for HBP for 20 years. Don't be afraid,( lack of a better word) of taking the meds. You do not want to f*** with hypertension, hardening of the arteries, etc. It's the silent killer and I'm sure the world is much more interesting with you in it.

All the best,....

Ok you guys have a lot of overall nice advice but only one very clear recommendation so far where to go the savitri Sharin clinic actually one is enough but I thought you more come up with personal experience on good skilled doctors.

You were given a list of hospitals.

For a Doctor I use Doctor Morgan she is on the pinned list of Doctors a long with several other good doctors.

Walk in to RAM, Rajavej, Lanna, McCormick, etc., etc. during daytime business hours and tell them you want to consult with a cardiologist. You will be directed to a cardiologist and no doubt a physical exam will be recommended.

If any doctor with MD after his/her name can't take B/P correctly then he/she shouldn't be practicing.

Come to think of it, neither should any nurse as its basic first 6 week practice.

Surely that widens your options?

You write as its not to worry as its only temporary and has been that way for some time.

To you if may be considered temporary....... but if you have those who love you and depend on you....... consider that your life is really only temporary also...... its relative...... get off the stick and have it checked...... Oh..... it doesn't hurt.

blueyeshk, I once walked into a hospital ER (in the U.S.) not feeling well, thinking I was in for the usual wait of 3 to 4 hours. As in Thailand, they always start by taking your vital signs before they tell you you'll have to wait. My BP was something like your high reading of 180/140 and I was amazed when they pulled me down into a wheelchair and whisked me in to see a doctor immediately. Turns out I was having a heart rhythm problem. Not one that causes a heart attack, but one that causes the heart to work out-of-sync and very ineffectively. If I'd ignored it much longer I could have had a stroke.

Something similar could be happening to you. Some people have hearts that go in and out of normal rhythm. It's not "normal" and it can kill because blood clots develop in the heart and they can cause strokes. Blood pressure that's high one day and normal the next isn't "normal". You need to get this checked out and a doctor in a stand-alone clinic probably isn't the best place to start. Any of the hospitals mentioned here with cardiologists and machines like ultrasounds and stress test set-ups would be a better place to start.

Initially I went to Rajaved for a medical check up the full works, where it was discovered I had dangerously high blood pressure ,higher than yours. The purpose of me posting this is to point out it is a drawn out process finding the correct medication. The first thing they needed to do was bring it down to a reasonable level but still medically high. the next step was to try different medications to bring it down to normal levels,Some had side effects such as a cough , then swollen ankles.Once the correct medication was found the next step was to alter the dosage until it was all settled down and stayed normal.

All this involved weekly, then twice weekly visits to see the doctor at the hospital.

My doctor was DR Jitt he would do it the old fashioned way with a manometer and stethoscope no electric gizmos for him.

I now go to my local clinic to get it checked and pick up two months supply of tablets,.So it monitored by a doctor once a month

It is not a quick fix and may take a few moths to get it sorted start now it may save your life.

they get very good reviews online but are obviously internal specialists and not cardiologists ?

I ended up with Dr. Morgan- and yes she is a terrific doc who knows her stuff and takes the time it needs

Agreed, but her staff take BP too fast.

You need to get there and sit for a while, to get a more reliable reading.
