Ericsson states that the world is becoming connected and entire industries are being changed thanks to the Internet. The company believes societies are becoming collaborative as a result and that Thailand is what is called a “networked society.”

Driven by broadband, the cloud and mobile, a networked society allows businesses and consumers to benefit from an online world.

Ericsson’s president and CEO, Hans Vestberg, believes that Thai’s digital-economy policy could be supported by mobility and a mobile broadband network. He further elaborated, stating that it is time the Thai government goes in the same direction as 130 other countries that now have a thriving digital economy.

The company spends US$5 billion per year on research and development and believes that the Thai telecom industry will need more access to stay competitive and offer affordable mobile broadband. Advanced network capabilities are also recommended to help the country transition into a digital economy.

One of the largest markets for Ericsson, the company has been in Thailand for over 100 years. Ericsson visits the country nearly every year to discuss new technologies and possible improvements.

The company last visited Thailand in March to discuss concerns with consumers and the media to better understand how the company can support markets in the country more successfully.

Yes indeed. This is so enlightening and such a pleasant surprise. Who would have thought such a thing? Only a billion smart phones in use around the world, but Ericsson now reports were connected. From under what rock did they recently crawl? Stupid news article.
