Illegal Casino Night busted by Pattaya Police

PATTAYA: -- Gambling is illegal in Thailand and Police are constantly on the lookout for those who organize illegal gambling events such as the one discovered inside a Village in Jomtien in the early hours of Tuesday.

Police were made aware of a gathering at a house inside the Egmongkol Village off the Tepprasit Road and proceeded to the location. Initially they were challenged by Security Guards at the entrance to the village who refused to direct Police to the house where the alleged gambling event was taking place, leaving Police to assume the Guards were somehow involved.

Eventually they found the house and arrested 8 people inside aged between 27 and 50. Some were asleep while others were playing the card game Rummy for money, which is illegal.
