I am looking for a shop which sells the fabric for traditional women hilltribe dresses (Lahu, Lisu etc.). Many years ago, I came by bus from Mae Hong Son to Chiang Mai. There were also Hilltribe women as passengers. The women left the bus, still more on the outskirts of Chiang Mai as far as I can remember, right in front of a shop where these fabrics are sold. It seemed wellknown to Hilltribe women because it was rather crowded.

As often in Thailand, where there is one shop of a certain kind, there are more around an area.

So anybody came across a cluster of Hilltribes around such shops in Chiang Mai or is in a relationship with a hilltribe beauty and could give me an address or direction or best the name of a shop?

Go to Warorot market, the main day market along the river. There is a section full of these shops....Ask around and someone will point you in the right direction.

Take a trip to Mae hong son.

Plenty of different hill tribe clothes etc available.

Night market at the lake is the best place.
