pattayapip Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Does anyone know a company or person who could set up (Install) a good wifi network in my House, I have Internet with Wifi already but need some repeaters or something like that so have a good signal throughout the house (and Garden) which I do not have right now, any info appreciated Thanks
CharlieH Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Have you tried asking your Internet provider ? I had mine come out, they sorted it quickly and very low cost.
Sayonarax Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Check on YouTube. You need access points that have repeater mode if you want to do it wireless or any basic WiFi if you want to do it using lan cable.
peterjackson Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I'm in Chiang Mai, so can't do it for you, but it's not a difficult task to undertake. If you want to do it yourself, I would be more than happy to give you an equipment /parts list and guidance where to put everything and configure the system. If you don't want to tackle the task yourself, I obviously can't recommend anyone in your area.

innerspace Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Providers are one option, dont speak with the company, will say no, but many engineers take extra work on the side. Some knowledgeable, some not so. As for talk about repeaters, ok if you only want to check the occasional email, convenient, but far from effective performance. If you get 50% through a repeater you are doing well. Access points connected via wire, positioned and configured correctly, stationary machines wired in and things go well. QOS and proper redundancy and things go better.

If you add a wired access point it will still enhance a repeater if you need one. It will greatly increase the bandwidth backhaul connection between the repeater and the router. Repeaters divide the available bandwidth among connections so that you can never get more than your allocation even if other nodes are idle. The access point provides a second throughput and basically doubles the bandwidth to the router for a repeater.
