Special pay rise for govt security personnel
THE NATION

BANGKOK: -- THE CABINET yesterday approved a special pay rise for officials and police officers assigned to assist members of the Cabinet, including those working under former PM Yingluck Shinawatra's government.

The salary hikes were approved for 101 officials from October 1, 2013, and 48 officials from April 1.

The salary adjustments were stalled by political problems at the end of 2013.

The Cabinet also approved the Cabinet Secretariat's proposal to improve criteria and guidelines on giving special salary raises to officials providing security to Cabinet members and their assistants.

The prime minister and ministers will be allowed to give a special raise to only one security official for the salary adjustment rounds of April 1 and October 1.

They can seek the transfer of only one police officer who is ranked higher than lieutenant colonel to provide security.

The PM can seek a salary raise for up to three government officials from other agencies transferred to assist the Cabinet and the PM.

Deputy prime ministers and ministers are allowed to do the same for up to two officials for the salary adjustment periods of April 1 and October 1.

Officials transferred on the order of the PM or Cabinet must stay on duty for at least four months. They must not have received more than two special raises in a row.

They must not be higher than the C-8 level and not hold executive positions.

Military officials must not hold ranks higher than lieutenant colonel, commander or wing commander.

Public prosecutors must not hold ranks higher than second level.

If I had a government position, in this political climate, I wouldn't tell anyone and take a different route home every day but

the continued rewarding of Mediocrity is shameless - " give my pal/son/relative a raise ? " .......... SURE !
