Rehab centers for Thais

Featured Replies

I am looking for rehab centers for Thais. I emphasize Thai because I am not looking for the rehab centers in Phuket, etc. that Aussies tend to go to. There's nothing wrong with them, but they have a different audience and setting that would not be helpful for this person.

I am familiar with Wat Thamkrabok and this may be the best option, but it is only 28 days maximum. Ideally, I am looking for a place that is 2-3 months. Also, with cost, 10,000 baht is the range with an absolute maximum of 15,000 baht per month for the treatment. Location-wise, Issan is best, but also Bangkok or the North or East somewhere could be okay. It's mostly the South that would not be an option.

Moving this to the drink too much fotum (which also covers drug abuse).

I am not aware of any private non-temple based rehab falities for Thais. Thais usually turn to Buddjist temples for this or if it is really bad then to the drug rehab programs run by the government. How good these are is open to question but it is what there is. Local government hospital can refer.

Here is a list of rehab hospitals in isarn that have AA meetings.

The khon kaen one has now got a new name and is about 5000 a month with the option of an air con room for 10 000.

There's a number of farangs who've stayed on at Wat Tham Krabok for a month or so after completing their basic course of treatment. Might be worth looking in to.
