need a old "broken" frame

Featured Replies

Has someone a broken road frame, like a carbon frame with a small crack or similar for sale?

I need a frame to put it on the trainer so frame not safe for the street would be good enough...I know there are lots of second hand bike shops.

But I thought if someone has something that is basically trash already, I would prefer to give some money for it for a fellow Thai Visa member some money than an unknown shop + purchase all the other things with it that I don't need...

Size 54

A broken/cracked frame would be even more dangerous on a turbo trainer, than on the road, due to the different stresses it puts on the frame. This is why quite a few manufacturers won't warranty a frame if it's been used on a trainer and subsequently fails.

You can probably pick up a aluminum framed road bike 2nd hand for not to much money, and it'll be a lot safer.

If the crack is in the main tubes or somewhere else low critical I can live with it. I consider the risk of hurting myself very small.......There is not much stress on the frame on my trainer (clamping on the back wheel)
