The Daonairoi School, a privately-run military academy in Khao Rup Chang Subdistrict (right near the border with Songkhla Town proper) is seeking three or four native speakers to join its rapidly expanding English program.

Tefl degree required. Previous experience preferred, but not required. Salary 'negotiable'.

This is a military boarding school, with almost all male high school (matthayom) students.

The school is only a few years old and the facilities are modern and attractive. It cost over Bt250m to build.

My visit there yesterday gave me the impression that this is a place where parents send their kids to give them some discipline and prepare them for possible success in a military career.

Those interested can forward their resume to: [email protected]

For a Thai language video that shows more visit their website http://www.dnr.ac.th/

Geez... parents sending their kids to receive discipline they could not do themselves.... and now, the school wants the farangs to do it..and set up them vs us syndrome...hmmm..let me think about this opportunity..

I think you are making a rather far-fetched assumption when you say the goal is to set up an 'us vs. them' mentality. They just want a few native speakers to teach them English and they would only be a tiny petcentage of the staff. I do agree there is a lack of discipline in many families here.

Actually, the management has informed me that it is not a military school, per se.

They prefer to think of it as a privately-run boarding school for Matthayom-aged boys.

Anyway, if you check out the Thai-language video on their website you'll get a better idea of what they are

offering the students.

Hmmm... well with all the mis-information, lack of accurate information on the purpose of the school, this indeed sets up a them vs us.. Do you think for a second, the Thais will adhere or enforce discipline of a all male high school... YES.. the English teachers will teach English, but that of course is not all they will teach.. and you know it. Especially with a "NEW" School..

Best of luck selecting the teachers.. really...Cheers Mate
