What is the chance that the seller is offering the real deal?

Featured Replies

There is a Squeezee on the ground floor of the Big C on Pattaya Klang selling 1 liter bottles of Tipco and Malee juices. Price is 100 baht for 2.

If you know anything about these juices, you know that they can't be found anywhere for less than 69 baht for 1.

I bought a couple of these and immediately noticed that one was missing a seal. Opening the second one, the seal was there but broken. So they are being refilled.

What's the chance that they're being refilled with actual juice from the company? Foolishly I drank both of my samples, I should've kept at least one and done a taste test against a genuine bottle from upstairs (Big C).

You drink things from reduced-price cartons on which the seal has been broken?

Rather you than me.

It's not a taste test you need to do; it's a full chemical analysis. There could be anything in that carton.

Good point. I figured as they were a juice stall the liquid would be somewhat legit. But those juice stalls themselves aren't exactly health options.

more fool you ............

Friendship almost always has it on sale for 59 baht, plus some freebie if buy 2.

Not the wisest choice to buy or drink something opened

Tipco cartons have a screw cap which cuts the seal when you first open it - no way to open the carton without breaking the seal.

So, how could you tell that the seal was already broken.

I don't know about Malee brand, but could it be the same?

That screw cap also has a lock on it that wont reseal, as far as I remember. So you can tell if it has been opened before.

Anything else would be fairly pointless.
